Don't put "Banksy" if your item is NOT BANKSY!!!, by Ågent ßacardi on Oct 19, 2006 22:19:30 GMT 1, Im not sure about this  I dont mind it  You get graffiti artists that are trying to get known putting "like Banksy" and I think good luck to them! ;D if they can start to build up a following from it, I cant see that Banksy would mind. Also it can get us all looking at other artists that we might not have found before ;D
I don't disagree with that completely... after all, I have bought something from someone other than Banksy because of the listing (250014119853 - I got it without the speech bubble sticker and love it to bits!).
But if they put "like Banksy", at least make sure that it's REALLY "like Banksy"! Martin Thompson's stuff looks NOWHERE like what Banksy would do, and it's just blatant illegitimate used of Banksy's name. I'm sure if I wanted to sell a poster of Barney the Dinosaur and put "Banksy" in the listing, you'd be pretty annoyed
