Info on BAST, a wiki article?, by Deux Spin on Oct 5, 2011 11:12:15 GMT 1, Hi all,
I'm a big fan of BAST but have only found snippets about him as a person. The KEYFOODS section in the Faile book is interesting, so are the press releases from Lazarides/Outsiders.
Having invested quite a bit in his work, including my latest purchase which is a Popeye painting over a Keyfoods poster I'd love to know more about him. I certainly think he deserves a wikipedia page!
Perhaps we could put together some info under this thread?
Cheers, Cedric

Info on BAST, a wiki article?, by gritty on Oct 5, 2011 12:24:14 GMT 1, I heard from a chap at POW that BAST works at JFK airport as a baggage handler.
Only does art in his spare time...
Not sure if he was pulling my plonker but its a good story all the same.

Info on BAST, a wiki article?, by Deux Spin on Oct 9, 2011 8:42:00 GMT 1, Yep, seems to be true. At the end of the Drewatts auction catalogue there was a small bio written by King Adz on BAST saying that until recently he was a baggage handler at JFK. A friend at LAZ confirmed that, saying that when he did the Botulism show he was still working but has since been promoted. Whether he is now a full time artist or not, I don't know.
Other snippets I picked up are that he often works canvases many times, so you'll find 3-4 paintings beneath the final piece. He also destroys his screens when he's finished with work.
