I myself think itโs framed perfectly and personally wouldnโt question an artist like gormleys preference. Horses for courses, its very beige for my liking the light coloured frame gives no real definition or boarder to the piece. Minimialist black and white image with already wide boarder on the paper looks a bit lost in the center. Then again, maybe that's the idea, to frame it with as little definition as possible to allow the frame to lose any impact and the piece to sit unenclosed on a wall? Similar to his outdoor pieces?
Personally I find a thin, black metal frame sets these prints off a treat, just to provide a simple limit to the framed piece and compliment the black / white imagery, but as I said, horses for courses.
( And not much of a fan of plain wood frames, again, personal preference)

They ran one over in Ireland last year for art on Christmas cards or something like that. Its a great way to raise funds and you could get lucky. |
