Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Warm Gun on Oct 16, 2011 11:46:49 GMT 1, web.orange.co.uk/article/news/stone_roses_to_announce_comeback_tour
I tell you what, that's one tour I would never miss!. Probably just a dream as rumours of this have been going around for years now. This article is also a few weeks old and I still haven't heard any updates....fingers crossed.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Happy Shopper on Oct 16, 2011 13:15:02 GMT 1, Mani was interviewed on the radio, to talk about the Screamadelica tour with Primal Scream. They asked him about a Roses reunion and he said there was no reason why not. They were all at least talking again

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Warm Gun on Oct 16, 2011 17:04:11 GMT 1, I'm getting excited at the very thought of this. I missed them first time around and was gutted when they split.
God,if you're reading this, I hope it's true.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by stillborncrisps on Oct 16, 2011 19:22:12 GMT 1, Was mentioned in the tabloids yesterday.
Shaun Ryder pointed out that millionaire Ian Brown was the one who'd never felt the need to reform, but that he'd just got divorced, so was maybe finally agreeing to recoup his financial losses.
I'm in two minds about going to see them. Yes, amazing classic album, but let's not forget by 1994 they were literally a laughing stock amongst the music biz. That bit seems to have got written out of history.

I fought my way to the front at Reading in '96....and shortly after was fighting my way back out. It was woeful.
Personally, would rather hear more rumours of a Smiths reform. That'd be something

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by stillborncrisps on Oct 16, 2011 22:52:12 GMT 1, I never ever want The Smiths to reform. I never ever want Morrissey and Johnny Marr to work together again.
Some things are just too special.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Prescription Art on Oct 18, 2011 15:20:08 GMT 1, From NME "So it's official: there will be two shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29th and 30th, followed by a world tour. And the best bit? The Stone Roses will be playing NEW SONGS!" "Ian Brown on the possibility of a new album: "We hope so. But we said that before didn't we?"
By 'Best bit' you obviously mean 'most worrying part'.
Reformed bands should NEVER EVER play ANY new songs. The chances of them being good are negligable.

I'm not a fan of reformed bands in general.. seeing The Pixies again was great, but after a 6 year comeback tour I think they're pushing it a bit!

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by balibob on Oct 18, 2011 16:47:11 GMT 1, Some of my mates are currently totally overcome with excitement and anticipation. Me on the otherhand while appreciating what good musician's the band were and how incredibly tight they sounded, can't get over just how bloody awful the monkey boys voice was/is. Unless they turn all the amps up to 11 and his mike down to -12 I shall be giving this one a massive swerve.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Deleted on Oct 19, 2011 10:14:37 GMT 1, And we can all drive to the gig in our 4 x 4's, with our families, and dress our children as little versions of ourselves. And buy the merchandise, and all be safe and sound in our own middle class lives.
Don't be fooled - it's another corporate event, stage managed to remove it of all spontaneity.
Looking forward to watching the coverage, inbetween adverts, on ITV, with reflections and commentary from fellow Mancunians Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams.
Move on.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Coach on Oct 19, 2011 20:29:46 GMT 1, Having seen a pic of them together all looking old (like me!) I think I will stick with my memories of having seen them often in Manchester first time round (some time between 86 and 89, but cant really remember exactly when), including having seen them play with the Mondays. Quality.

Stone Roses finally reforming?, by Deleted on Oct 20, 2011 16:17:35 GMT 1, If this does go al the way and we do get some new material, I hope they don't ideas above their station and attempt to produce the stuff themselves. Record producers and engineers are crucial to a good album. The new Kasabian album is a good example of a band that should have used a producer. It's an album that lacks any warmth or soul.
But the digital/analogue debate is another thread.
