Banksy Graffiti Bollard, by tclem13 on Apr 28, 2007 20:04:29 GMT 1, I ran into a gallery that is selling this Banksy graffiti for 12,000GBP. What do you guys think? I'm trying to trade for 2 signed prints I have.

Would be a big mistake on your part IMO, next to impossible to find provenance for street pieces unless they''ve been previously documented and are "known" pieces. Rat looks like one his earlier rats, but bad placement, odd tag.. too easy to knock these up. Plus your signed prints (depending on which ones), will prob ably be worth more down the line.
What provenance are the gallery offering ?

Good decision, cos looking more closely, that rat is all wrong. It should be holding pliers or a brush.. very suspect IMO

Banksy Graffiti Bollard, by tclem13 on Apr 30, 2007 5:04:49 GMT 1, So the gallery owner said the following:
It was outside the bookshop in Hoxton.
The vendor says that it had been knocked over , the council removed it & pit it beside the road / by a skip , so they took it home before it was landfilled !
You can see on the bottom edge where it was cut from its frame.
Maybe. Maybe not.

Banksy Graffiti Bollard, by wildbill on Apr 30, 2007 5:39:57 GMT 1, even if it was real, I'd much rather have a couple of nice framed prints up on the wall.
that thing is beat to death.
