Mounting wood in a frame - Advice Please, by atomone on Nov 24, 2011 12:02:21 GMT 1, Can anyone advise my framer on how to mount a piece of wood in a frame?...not the most exciting thread but i've taken a piece of A4 wood in to the framers to mount inside a box frame (the usual black box with glass) and everytime I call him to ask if it's ready he tells me that he needs to find out how to mount it properly as it needs to be strong enough so it doesn't fall off...it's been a month now and i'm still waiting, surely it doesn't take that long to work out does it?...can't work out whether he's plain stoopid or something has happened to the piece? maybe he's too busy?...says he'll return my calls and doesn't...if anyone can advise me on the best way to mount it I can then pass that info onto him and get the piece on the wall finally...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...like I say, not the most exciting thread but hey!
Thanks in advance peeps...

Mounting wood in a frame - Advice Please, by xmyart on Nov 24, 2011 12:04:46 GMT 1, Just got some bits on board back from MFM (not wood but guess it would be the same), he set them into foam then added a mount and framed. Nothing stuck to it at all apparently.

Mounting wood in a frame - Advice Please, by atomone on Nov 24, 2011 12:11:42 GMT 1, Sounds good! maybe i'm panicking as a month seems too long, he has 3 other pieces too but they aren't wood so maybe i'm just jumping the gun? I kinda want the wood float mounted so I can see the edges as they are all battered and gives it some nice details! I guess he's just doing his job and doesn't wanna use the wrong adhesive incase it damages the piece?...cheers for the advice in the meantime!

Mounting wood in a frame - Advice Please, by atomone on Nov 24, 2011 13:08:26 GMT 1, Yeah they do look good without glass I have to admit! Have got pieces done like that but this is only A4 size and think it will look better behind glass and to have that preservation with the glass etc...plus I have kids and they'd only take it out and scribble on it!
