Banksy Gallery At Pinewood Studios, by lexo on Feb 16, 2007 9:25:11 GMT 1, I am in the process of setting up a Banksy gallery online and so far have some nice pieces for sale Including 2x christ with 1x angel cop napalm pulp fiction signed napalm ap Poss De-faced canvas happy choppers David Blunkett Radar rat (Street Pieces) and loads of other signed an unsigned prints, I am going to set up shop online, but the gallery will be based at Pinewood Studios In Bucks. Pieces will have to be collected or dispatched from there, as i believe that the whole ebay thing is getting beyond a joke with people being ripped off left, right and centre
The gallery should be open by the end of the month so if anyone else has pieces that they would like to sell please contact me asap and I can add them to the site before launch
Many Thanks
Lex

Banksy Gallery At Pinewood Studios, by mcnuts on Feb 16, 2007 10:36:36 GMT 1, interesting idea and timely business model, what, might I ask is your cut in the process? Will you charge a listing fee or just do a % of sale price? Also, if the ebay prices are out of hand, how will you set your prices? Wont many people use the ebay sale price as a benchmark for what the piece of paper with pretty colours and an embossed stamp is worth?
good idea, just a few questions

Banksy Gallery At Pinewood Studios, by dotdot on Feb 16, 2007 12:42:19 GMT 1, interesting idea. Best of luck with your venture. There's already a few folks out there doing something similar - the shop that is - though not the gallery. (TomTom for one.. though I've never been to the 'location')
Gallery idea is , in fact , a good one.
People like to see what they are buying as we've seen in thread get your banksys out. Having the chance to see a few in context would be, I think, quite a good idea.
I agree with your notes about ebay. I've been using ebay for purchasing (having missed out the pow) ... for a period and have become somewhat concerned though I am still - an occasional 'user'.

Not that i am in any way cynical but......
Does this mean you will be undercutting e bay prices or charging double for a coffee and sit down while you look the prints ?

Banksy Gallery At Pinewood Studios, by tomhills1 on Feb 16, 2007 20:52:23 GMT 1, it would be nice to have somewhere reputible you can trust, and go and buy a classy print in a frame etc or just browse and have a wank! could end up being the bridge between the bay and the likes of sotheby's if you play your cards right. it'll be hard work like silky said to maintain consistent stock as well as being the market leader in the field. you gonna sell banksy exclusively or a range of artists? there are already a few who cater for everyone so your gonna have to find a unique selling point. good luck.

Banksy Gallery At Pinewood Studios, by Mobu on Feb 18, 2007 13:23:18 GMT 1, Hope you will post us the URL of your gallery once it is up and running. If the prices are reasonable, no doubt you will sell out in no time.
