Just bought this Sepia on eBay..., by mcnuts on Jun 11, 2007 20:55:09 GMT 1, just removed didn't realise putting an address would offend anyone or cause any issues. Anyone can access anyone's address on www.post office.co.uk
that is true but they wouldnt know who bought the print and i'm sure you wouldnt want that info about yourself online.
I'd think its in your interest to keep that print info private as well as nobody tries to copy it etc.
Now you've done the edit, I'm sure everyone is happy.

Just bought this Sepia on eBay..., by markrobbo on Jun 11, 2007 20:58:07 GMT 1, like I said the last thing I wanted was to offend anyone. I've only been using the site a week or so and will hopefully pick up the etiquette etc but genuinely didn't think it was an issue or I wouldn't have done it.
Anyway, end of.

Just bought this Sepia on eBay..., by hungrig on Jun 11, 2007 21:00:37 GMT 1, the date is fine. i bought mine on the 29th - the day it was released - but many were also sold on the 30th. Ya didnt need to make the dude's info public, did you? If i sold u somethin i wouldnt want my details posted like that,
markrobbo,
I agree with mcnuts. You are completely out of order posting details of this chap on a public forum.
You obtained confirmation from POW that he is the registered owner of the print. What further comfort do you require?! What more do you want?
Would you like him to receive hate mail from people who weren't able to buy a 'Morons' print directly from POW? Do you want to purchase the print from him on eBay, and then grass him up to POW?
If that was intentional, you are a shameful hypocrite. If it was unintentional, you still need a good slap.
I'd be curious to know what your reaction would be if the person you sold a print to in good faith (and at a very fair price) did likewise with your personal details.

In the interest of openness, I should also add that I am the person who gave you a negative "respect" point. I truly feel you deserved it, and I say that sincerely.

Did you not read the last post "End of". I have admitted I made a mistake and respect that and have tried to clear the air. Furthermore I won't be doing it again so don't jump on the bandwagon "having a pop". Clearly you didn't read or see the original post so butt out.
It was not intentional and as for "still need a good slap" there is no need to lower the tone.
As for "what further comfort do I require" the purpose of the post was to check if the email looked kosher and the date was correct. Not to share someone's address with people on the forum. Clearly I hadn't thought about anything else happening with the details as everyone on the forum seems great and willing to help - with the exception of you email which has lowered the tone and put me off posting again.

bit harsh hungrig? i don't agree with how the mistake was made but that's what it was: a mistake. maybe a little common sense or foresight would have prevented it but it's done. the best thing he could've done was to remove it, which he did and apologise. about ten times i think.
never f*cked up before? i know i have, give people the benefit of the doubt, he's new here and perhaps new to buying banksy's and as such maybe did not appreciate the gravity of such actions.
in time he'll learn this not a typical reaction from you and will respect, as i and many others do, the wise words you speak and do so in a clear and un-ambiguous manner.
like markrobbo said, end of though yeah?

markrobbo,
I started drafting my post #35 as soon as I saw your original unedited post #24 and the response of mcnuts #25 (the last message I read until I pressed "Post Reply").
My words are chosen with great care and, combined with my slow brain, a number of minutes can pass between one post and my response to it. This leaves plenty of time in the interval for others to leave replies without my having read them beforehand.
So, no, I did not read your "End of" post. And, no, I wasn't jumping on any bandwagon. Stick around for a few more weeks; you will see that is not quite the manner in which I operate.
I am pleased you recognise a mistake was made, though I admit being slightly dumbfounded as to how it could have been made to begin with. As referred to earlier (albeit indirectly), I do believe that posting someone's personal details on a public forum with almost 3,700 members lacked basic common sense. Given what was at stake for the unfortunate seller in question, I felt it was important to make that point very clear.
You should certainly not feel put off by posting again in the future. I would simply encourage you to do so responsibly, and to think about the potential consequences of what you decide to put down in writing. If you make a mistake, you will be held accountable, and you should expect a bit of stick for it. That is only fair and just.
In this respect, we are all in the same position. If one c ocks up, one awaits the slap, and one accepts it with good grace. Part of the learning process.

rob123rob,
A little bit of pain can be good for the soul. It is an effective "awakener", and has the potential to make someone feel more alive. Consequently, a slap is not necessarily a bad thing. [nuart has certainly had his fair share in the past, and I like to think that my gentle and humble contribution has helped him to become a better person as a result!]
That 'Morons' print is fine.
POW brought in another blindstamp a bit longer than 18 months ago. The more recent one says "P.O.W. PRINTMAKING". The older one says "PICTURES ON WALLS DOT COM" and has thinner lettering.
There was a lot of overlap for awhile. I have seen 'Napalm' prints with either stamp. My 'CND' has the newer stamp, but my 'Police Kids' (a.k.a. 'Jack and Jill') has the older one, despite being released after 'CND'.
I believe POW is now becoming more consistent and using only the "P.O.W. PRINTMAKING" embossment since the release of the LA prints.
Hope that answers your question.

nicely put hungrig, i wasn't aware that the info was still up when you posted, makes sense with the tone etc now, originally looked like you were in one hell of a bad mood .
any newbies will see as time goes on, or pull up previous posts, that 99.9% of the time hungrig speaks sense and speaks it well.
not sure they still teach his learning process at school mind
