Help frame a rat, by eschiff on Dec 19, 2011 18:27:55 GMT 1, thanks JP!
I do like that but i met a graphic designer on sat night who over 8 pints convinced me to go double matte in a similar colour and invest in 'more interesting' frame...hard to decide!

Help frame a rat, by maumau93 on Dec 19, 2011 23:05:24 GMT 1, @ mouser i really like that but think i would go for something a bit less... big... if it was hung in my house i think i would go sumin more like this... (and having an education in graphic design i am drawn to something a bit more simple but think with an image this simple its the way you need to go) oh and obviously if you are having it done get the colours to all match...

Help frame a rat, by mouser on Dec 19, 2011 23:31:04 GMT 1, Its a small print Five, so needs a bit of size / setting to do it justice, and personally find colour matched mounts rather.... tacky. Simple black and white lets the red spray stand out, uses the contrast of the black mount as the paper is yellowish rather than white, so very tricky to get a good match in different light conditions. But then again I dont have a education in graphic design.
Maybe a matched red spacer similar to R@T's copper? Personally very happy with mine, but each to their own.

yeh i think that could work nicely float mounted with a fat spacer... and am not saying my way is right that's just how i would have it because i spent allot of time studying quite basic design. i duno i've always had something for colour coding i used to match my shoe laces with my boxers and jacket but of course each to their own (i've always thought design and art was just people with big ego's trying to get everyone to like what they like.)
EDIT: and having just seen a pic of it next to other work so i could get an idea of the sorta size i can see where your comin from with the hole big frame but i still think it could do with a bit of colour coding

Help frame a rat, by eschiff on Dec 20, 2011 11:38:09 GMT 1, this thread is awesome, thanks for all the suggestions...
there really does seem to be two schools of thought for all framing...the simple, let the art speak for itself camp and the frame is part of the art camp.
that being said, howlinmadjack, i really like what you've done there with the white frame and the bigger black mat.
