Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by catfelix69 on Jul 11, 2007 20:31:31 GMT 1, Whats with all the Beejoir ass licking?
Banksy has been around for years and has done some incredible graffiti ALL OVER the world, as well as putting up pieces in famous galleries and painting on Israels security wall. He has also released some AMAZING prints - How can you put these two people in the same league!! No disrespect to Beejoir his recent work has been awesome - but everyone is saying he is the next Banksy etc...
Sorry, been a long day....

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by dave313perry on Jul 11, 2007 20:39:12 GMT 1, Beejoir is highly regarded and touted by many as the next big thing, and no one is ass-licking and nobody puts them in the same league from what i can see???
an offer for what could be one of beejoir's most limited runs, which in a couple of years could be comparable to radar rat or similar IMO.
no one makes them comparable now but if you were to hedge a bet on someone, surely beejoir comes into the frame
peace

Quite possible... The signed editions are sooo limited LVC 45 together with AP & PP TS 85 with AP & PP, TShs 15, SBFO 40, 185 altogether. Then you just take how many members are on this forum (3000+/- with double accounts) and are reading about him than it's simple supply and demand. But it's too early...it really depends on the future of his work, releases and so on... Saying that I think his solo show at the end of the year is going to be one of the highlights of the year.
P.S. Personally I don't regard to him as the next Banksy. He is who he is-Beejoir

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by mp on Jul 11, 2007 23:33:32 GMT 1, A lot of people might think I'm being too brash and having a knee jerk reaction because of the buzz that was ignited about this print earlier this week, but that's not the case. SBFO was the print release I most looked forward to this summer. I'm located in the States and tried to stay up to buy it(had a feeling it was going up that Sunday), couldn't last and when I woke up they were gone. I have an LV Child and I have a Turin Scam already. I'm just a big fan of Beejoir's work and also happen to like his political messages. They make comments on society that appeal to things and organizations that I work with in my life. So to me, this trade is worth it.
As far as kissing the man's ass, I don't know him, so that might be pretty hard to do. I do think it's cool that he's a true collector as well and interacts on these boards and I'm sure that has added to why people have embraced his work so openly on these boards. But most importantly, the guy's a talented artist and SOS is doing top notch printing. That's what matters most in the long run.
That being said, I've sadly had no takers yet.

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by rob123rob on Jul 11, 2007 23:58:50 GMT 1, And I think another reason a lot of us are scrambling to get Beejoir's art now is that this seems like it might be the near beginning of a great career, much like was the case a few years back on POW. And since we've all been sitting around with only the LA six prints to look at from Banksy for the last how many months, it's no wonder wer're getting excited by something new, by someone who clearly has the talent and the ability to express his vision, and who's pieces might still be almost-affordable for most of us. I love Banksy, of course, but I've been looking at those LA six prints for far too long now, waiting for something new.

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by jam on Jul 12, 2007 0:25:43 GMT 1, I took a only few short naps over Saturday and Sunday because I was obsessed with landing a SBFO and I was worried it could come at any time of day or night. My wife thought I was certifiably mad... but I got a lucky score so it worked out. As I said before, I think a fair trade would be something along the lines of an LA Banksy, and your offer of Morons seems a fair one. Mine is NOT available, but someone may take the deal. Good luck!
PS: Has anyone received it yet? I have went from F5 for 2 days to waiting with bated breath for a doorbell ring!

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by worlddomination on Jul 12, 2007 18:12:43 GMT 1, I think that the only person who is kissing B's ass should be his girlfriend and no one from the forum that aside his work is the dogs dangly bits, the images are spot on and the political messages are spot on, don't compare him to Banksy because he will have steve laz trying to lick his ass too and he certainly wouldn't like that, would you Chris!

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by dgb133 on Jul 12, 2007 21:49:33 GMT 1, I don't dislike Beejoir but SBFO, the print is so painfully straightforward and obvious. And visually, just not what I or I think that many people would want to look at every day. None of the sly wittiness or open-ended ideas that's apparent in Mr B's work for example
Now LV Child is a better print and I can understand the desire for that. But I think everyone has their hopes set way too high here.
Looks to me like their is so much demand for this is because everyone is more afraid of missing out on the next Banksy than anything.

Trade U/S Morons for Beejoir Shell Blood For Oil, by dgb133 on Jul 12, 2007 22:02:31 GMT 1, And you don't think anyone here is influenced about their desire for this print because there is all this talk and hype that it will be worth as much as a signed Banksy?
Do you really think there would have been the same scramble to get this print and that it would have sold out in minutes if people didn't think they'd be able to flip it and profit from it?
Really?

Right, just because the iraq war has lasted 10 years or so and that we live in a shocking world doesn't mean that the print is interesting. The slogan no blood for oil is old, tired and clichรฉ. But not as cliche as literally screenprinting an oil company logo on Iraqi dollar bills. Yeah, woo, that's real thought provoking and deep. That is so painfully straightforward and obvious. Everyone knows that already. Who cares. I don't need a print about it. It has less of the wry wittiness or original thoughts that I've seen used in commercial anti-war adverts yet people are willing to pay 100 hundred times more for it becasue it's "signed."
