Street Art in Canada, by Ravnur 2020 on Jun 17, 2021 14:30:11 GMT 1, These wheat pasted murals by Katie Green are along the river front in Calgary in Alberta. I have been enjoying walking along the river and seeing them. I find the masked figures very intriguing and enjoy wondering who they are and what the mural is trying to tell me about their lives. some way the work reminds me a bit of the work by Huma Bhabha.
A piece about the project is here: www.avenuecalgary.com/city-life/katie-green-mural-series-east-village/
Katie Greens website is here: www.katiegreen.art/

Street Art in Canada, by Ravnur 2020 on Nov 27, 2021 13:41:11 GMT 1, Not seen terribly much streetart on the streets of St John's, Newfoundland (yet), but frequently ride past this one. No tag, so do not know who the artist is. I like it as it makes me think about the fate of the Beothuk. The Beothuk were the indigenous people of Newfoundland. The Beothuk were driven to extinction by European settlers, dying from starvation, imported illnesses and clashes with the Europeans.
