Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by tobaum on Dec 9, 2011 16:33:39 GMT 1, What's the problem with people giving their opinion about some art? Is it only allowed to say we like sth here? Actually I think comments about rip off etc are far more interesting. Imo everybody is entitled to an opinion, not only the people who have a nice opinion. Anyway the motto in art is "Each to their own" so I cannot see any post as insulting or disturbing or whatever.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by gibbin82 on Dec 9, 2011 17:18:50 GMT 1, I agree with some of the comments saying that it is reasonable to give your own view or even critism of a release, but maybe it should be constructive. But to quote Silkys polite request : Let's keep it nice and friendly please thank you! and then launch into a bit of a offensive rant is possibly pushing it a little to far
Whatever your opinion of Mr Brainwashs work, three things are very clear, one he is very successful, two his art brings out a great deal of passion in people and finally it will sell out in seconds.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by spencerlee on Dec 9, 2011 17:21:22 GMT 1, I think if MBW ever came on the forum and read the opinions, he would be too busy laughing and wiping his ass with crisp 50 pound notes to give a flying f*ck what us morons think.
Does he read these Silky? You are always quite careful about what people say about him, moreso than anyone else. Genuine question. If we have a real celeb amongst our midst, I'll get my tux dry cleaned.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by Daniel Silk on Dec 9, 2011 17:30:36 GMT 1, I don't believe anyone really wants to read pages and pages of abuse aimed at anyone from people who clearly just enjoy bitching and moaning about things that they are not interested in
If you really hate an artists work that much, then why torture yourself by haunting every thread about him and his work.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by dollart on Dec 9, 2011 20:10:08 GMT 1, I like MBW work, have tried to buy many of his recent prints with no luck. Again, I like this print, although the price is some what suprising, each print he releases costs more and more and $850 seems a hefty price tag. If you do or dont like this print, your chance of baging one is tiny as they will sell out in seconds as per usual - im sure MBW will have a lovely xmas on the profits - hopfully his new year prints are sub $400 as before!

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by schlege on Dec 9, 2011 20:42:59 GMT 1, Personally I love the idea of someone buying this and flipping it right away in Ebay for massive profit. I have no idea where the parody then starts, ends, or who is the comedian.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by tobaum on Dec 12, 2011 11:33:06 GMT 1, I almost never critisize artworks as I really believe the "Each to their own" motto. But I cannot remark the moderation always come with MBW. This is weerd as for instance, other artists are strongly critisize, for a current example: Nick Walker. I'm just wondering why this protection specially around MBW? Just saying.

Had a right good chat and a larf over a couple of smokes, got me in sans invite and then got me a drink. Don't rate what he puts out, but can't knock the bloke himself. He's a very nice man

Thank you for sharing But this has nothing to do with what I said. You can check the thread I didn't criticize MBW.
I'm just saying people should be allowed to say what they think about a piece of art or an artist as long as it is related to his art. Specially as being loved or hated is part of this game.

Mr Brainwash "Dreamboats" Print, by xmyart on Dec 17, 2011 11:06:01 GMT 1, This is an Art forum, and its here for you to talk about all Artists & all Galleries & all Art Events. In order to have open and constructive discussion about art, people must respect other peoples opinions and rights, even if you might not like or agree with what that Member, Artist or Gallery says or does.

I dont get much of this. If its a forum, then its a place to spark open debate. Its not a place to give unending love to people. Seriously, we dont all like the same things. If we did im guessing it wouldnt be Brainwash!!!
If everything on here was all about showing love for all artists, would there really be much point even visiting?? Not for me, i like to see what other people think of stuff. I dont really have an interest in what people have been told they can type/publish based on the opinions of silky (no dissrespect dude, if i wanted YOUR opinion i would ask. I prefer to get a broader gauge on opinion though)
As has been said, is anyone really slating brainwash? If we assume very very very few people here would have met him, then it seems fair to assume its the art they are judging him by, therefore its the art the are attacking not him!!!
That link states that all "people must respect other peoples opinions and rights, even if you might not like or agree with what that Member"
And yet these are our opinions, and YOU silky are not accepting your own rules for the forum it appears.
And no, im not desperately trying to get myself banned by saying this silky, i just dont get why we cant express what is truely OUR opinion on things, when that is the point of the place!!!
Is everyone really that insecure? They must struggle like fuck in the real world if they are is all i can say!!
