Well said that man, I just do not understand why this particular sale has managed to generate so much bile! If you do not want to buy it and cant think of anything constructive or helpful to say why not abide by the forum rules and leave the sellers thread alone!

Quite agree, if i were making an offer it would be around this mark. Offer 3500, then work out a happy medium. no fuss, probably meet around 3700-3750, lovely framed work of art and a happy seller. What in the world is wrong with that?

BANKSY 'CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON' LEMON YELLOW FS!, by iamzero on Jan 8, 2012 0:32:25 GMT 1, Not a bad return in 12 months for a £400 print....? Reality check anyone. You could say that, BUT..... this print has been appreciated, loved, framed, hung on the wall and even been used as the sellers avatar. What he is asking is about the going rate for these, the difference to most of the ones seen on eBay (and the majority sold on this forum), is that it was never bought with the intention of making a fat profit and sat unseen in a portfolio (or worse a tube) untill the chosen day. The price being asked is the price that has been set by the parasites we call flippers, but as this is a geniune sale why should he sell it for less than the going rate he hasn't set
I never once said this print wasn't being offered for too much money or was to be considered a flip... I've only just wrote about what I consider to be a flipped print and this one is as far from it as you can get if you care to look it up?
This is one of my goal prints I was talking about in a different thread and if I had 4k right now I would buy it... Ok maybe I would offer around the 3.5k mark but that just me trying to grab a real bargain to hang.
My reality check remark is actually aimed at the point of where else can you take £400, ENJOY looking at the fruits of that money for 12 months and then make around 10 times that amount back for nothing? Yes I'm aware they available on fleabay for 5.2k and 8k.... BUT THATS WHY THEY ARE STILL THERE UNSOLD. Because they are overpriced, it doesn't make them worth that much!!!
Let's just say for arguments sake this print was let go for £3.5k to a forum member that just wanted to hang it forever much like myself, that forum member grabs a great deal (not gonna happen as I don't have the money) but still the seller has made about 3 grand in a year for what... enjoying a piece of artwork. That's nearly £60 a week pure profit.
Now I'm a hands on tradesman for a living and I have to earn my money the hard way and £60 to me is still a fair amount of cash. Of course I'm not telling anyone what they should sell things for so you lot need to stop getting out of your prams over the slightest things.
I remember going to Turkey on holiday about 15 years ago and paying X amount to ride to the next town on a crappy little bus thing, about 20p or something. On the way back I get on the bus and the driver tried to charge us around 25% more for the same journey and I argued that he was ripping us off... Right up until the point I realised it was about 5p more and felt like a right dick. REALITY CHECK.
Fact is that this a beautiful print in a stunning frame and at about the right price for the market but still... by anyone who has any value of the investment and return theory not a bad return on the original investment.

Dead right! if it was a 'good deal' it would already be sold and on eBay for someone else to make a profit!, but it is priced about right and that that is one reason why it hasn't yet sold on the forum
In the end it is a nice print, well framed, being offered at close to its true market value and I am sure someone will buy it given time and appreciate it as a nice piece of art instead of adding up the potential profit.

BANKSY 'CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON' LEMON YELLOW FS!, by mayhem on Jan 8, 2012 1:20:49 GMT 1, Hope I never have to go down that backstabbing road while trying to enhance my collection. Helping forum members by making that shear audacious move to pass on a classic work of art and get chastised for it.
Maybe that's why they end up on fleabay, Less hassle, more profit.

I have to agree, people soon get bored, might be better saving money and not even bother with the framing.
