Who's who of Ebay scammers idea , by bond on Aug 1, 2007 21:15:58 GMT 1, HI All
I'm currently waiting for a print and the longer i wait the more nervous i get so it got me thinking.
One of the many damn fine aspects of this forum is the wealth of knowledge and willingness of people to raise suspicions and inform others of bad experiences.
Let's face it these days anyone buying from Ebay is going to be spending a lot of their hard earned.
So i was wondering what people would think of a new sub section where we could list the Ebay ID of anyone guilty of conning a buyer.
I'm not talking witch hunts where someone can post an ID with no evidence , but instead the list would be made up of those sellers proven to have sold fakes or not delivered.
It'd police itself as any other potential buyer could then view the feedback profile , see the negs and know a bit more about what happened.
I realise feedback is viewable anyway but it gets archived after a while and a lot of sellers select private feedback so comments and auctions can't be seen .
Any thoughts lads and lasses ?

so yes, i'm with you james, although i do think certain situations could be misrepresented  .

Just wait until the money clears into your bank , send it then, no problems.
Ive bought prints before, recieved in good time only for P****l to reject my card and payment. To the seller it looks like the sale has gone through and he sends the print only for a few days later paypal reject the money.
I then recieved several heated e-mails from seller thinking id ripped him off, i hadn't and ended up paying him a little extra for the inconvinience.
Like i said , wait until its in your account before sending anything, especially when it's a four figure banksy print.

He can come back with the old story that the print has never arrived or that it was damaged and paypal would send him is money back

But when looking closer at the print it was a good reproduction. Had money to the seller, and asked for a quick refund. Money finally came back today!!!! Scared the poop out of me.

Most sellers and buyers are geniune but a small minority spoil it and due from time to time get away with a con.
As we've said , always check the feedback and although harsh to new genuine buyers with low feedback - we all have to start at zero - when selling high value , you have the right to decide who you allow to bid.
I got ripped of with buying an ipod and did manage to get back 85% of my money ( paid via bank transfer ) it took bloody ages and you are treated as guilty until you jump through hoops

my seller has well over 100 feedback all 100% positive? ? although never sold owt previous. emailed twice today with no reply, manners cost nothing
