The drinking laws are very odd, consumption isn't as easy or cheap as it is in the UK.
Love the Swedes though...

Sweden..., by sharpster on Jan 12, 2012 21:23:38 GMT 1, you can get normal beer and other alcohol only in special stores (if I remember right), just the light beer (1,5 %) is available in normal supermarkets. Stockholm is a place I can just recommend to go to, have been there in summer three years ago and absolutely loved it, nice pubs and clubs, friendly people, and if you take the ferry for a little ride outside the harbour into the skerry gardens beautiful countryside as well ... well worth a visit!

Sweden..., by ncewnimw on Jan 12, 2012 22:50:41 GMT 1, Myself I live in Stockholm and have never been as far up Nordh as Arvidsjaur. Thou, I'd be happy to point things out to you. Just PM me with some points of interest and Ill try to helt you out.
Regering the alcohol, all stronger brews than 3,5% are limited to be sold at Systembolaget. À chain of stores under close and strict legizlation by the Swedish goverment. Might sound strange, I know, but this legizlation aslo forces Systembolaget to stock some great assortment of almost everything. And what's not in stock can be ordered.
...and no, there are no polar bears walking around in the north of Sweden as many (at least Americans) think.
Welcome to Sweden!
