If you have ยฃ1500 to spend, and you have a choice between an unsigned Banksy print, or a Dolk canvas, I know what one I would go for  ;D
Also I can remember when you could pick up Banksy Canvases for around ยฃ400  and people were saying they were pricey ;D

A 1/3 of the price was a great buy and loads of people snapped them up. The Girl with teddy canvases sold out before the HMP website even launched

Agreed - no way I would pay this amount of money for something like this. There are original one off works by interesting (and pretty well established) artists that do not cost anything like this.

Totally agree with the comment - however they must think that someone will pay ยฃ1500 to price it at that? If anything prices have been levelling off recently.
I don't know what anybody else thinks but their seems to be so much choice out there at the moment ;D ;D
My credit card has died - always transfer it to another interest free card and open a new one !!!

Yep I think the price increase was a poor move. Vastly increasing your prices, very quickly, is a dangerous game. It can be like blowing too hard on a small fire, it can be very counter productive.
Artists that try to emulate Banksy should remember that he got where he is by selling allot of his art well under the market price.
Saying that, I like Dolk's work loads and wish him the best.

talking about Banksy, there is no comparison between Dolk's current series of canvas pieces and the Banksy editioned canvas pieces that used to be available on POW(Kids with Guns, Paranoid Pictures, etc.). Dolk's involve much more handwork by the artist and, IMO, are much tighter works in general.
I believe the Banksy ones used to run about ยฃ500 back in the day.
All in all, I'd gladly buy both of the new Dolk canvas pieces at ยฃ850- ยฃ1000, but ยฃ1500 is a place I can't justify going, especially given the horrible dollar these days.

one of the posters over on the Dolk board said he bought it for ยฃ750, that it was damaged, they tried to repair it, ended up scrapping it and giving him a completely new one.....

I was just try to remember what Dolk told me Im pretty sure he said that he had posted three canvases for the Ghetto, but I think they only sold that one But I guess Laz might have had the other two, so maybe he sold those from his Greek Street gallery.

It had a lot more street effect yesterday. The builders managed to drop some rubble down the chimney, dislodging 160 years of soot! The entire room got covered in it. managed to get rid of it using a dyson with a small round brush fitting. For cleaning the canvas I held
it 4/5 inches away from the surface until all the soot was gone.
A bit of a timely reminder that our art work needs as much care and attention as we can give it!
I think that the piece is amazing and I am very happy with it.
