I've been offered a gift print, by UK Art Dealer on Jan 20, 2012 21:08:43 GMT 1, Been offered a Banksy Nola Gift print (White Nola).
Just wondering what people's perception of value for these are. Obviously no COA and its signed with a blind stamp.
Im only going to buy it if its rock bottom money but would be interested to see what people think about these gift prints.

I've been offered a gift print, by mouser on Jan 20, 2012 22:50:37 GMT 1, I have one framed on my wall, came with full email trail from POW confirming it, but unable to supply COA for obvious reasons. I like it, know its kosher and looks good in a frame, didnt spend alot on it, but sits fine with me, due to having the confirmation. A great way of picking up a print for the wall, rather crap as a sellable comodity if its being bought to sell on.

I've been offered a gift print, by dodomank01 on Jan 21, 2012 20:45:35 GMT 1, can someone tell me what is the difference between an un authenticated gift print and a west country £55 print bar the obvious?? it has no resale value unless it has a COA. no auction houses and most galleries wont touch it, so where is the value?? i have had a gift print in the past yet it was authenticated by PC...so why can this one not be?? worth a quarter of the value?? i would say 1/10 without a COA....try selling it on as a dealer and you will struggle..

I would say there would be a value to certain people if the paperwork trail, or a convincing enough story to back up that it was indeed signed by the guy

I'd say a good 80% of Banksy prints don't have a COA, why would they ? Everyone who bought at source knows their work is a Banksy and has the number registered with POW, when did they start issuing COA's, 2010 ?
If it has full provenance then COA is irrelevant, in the future COA's without provenance will probably be irrelevant too.

So if I say it is my gift print then I can get a COA. If you buy it you can have a copy of my COA but you cannot be a regd owner at PC. neither can you get another COA as you are not the person it was gifted to.
Do not have one but this is my understanding of the system.
So it can affect resale as the print and if the print moves further down the chain.
However if you buy off someone who you know has been gifted. Get a good price and stick on your wall - top drawer.
There are also some real nice rarity gift prints out there as well.

She/He could have come on the site as allislove rather than openly as a trader so fairplay in my book.
