Banksy spotting Bristol..., by Deleted on Jan 28, 2012 0:45:17 GMT 1, The current Mrs cnh has bought us both a nice hotel stay in Bristol next Friday night  (part of my Christmas box )
Anyway two questions, where's good to go for something to eat / go to on a Friday evening ?
Plus would like to go Banksy spotting on Saturday , where's best to start / go ( pistol , you'll have to tell me where your stuff is too ) to see a good selection.

Banksy spotting Bristol..., by letiss on Jan 28, 2012 2:28:23 GMT 1, Try finding the new "Castles" piece, It's behind the main library and next to the cathedral on College Green. If you've never been to Briz head up to Stokes Croft and you'll spot a few Banksys there. There's one on Park Street as well. Well worth having a look at the See No Evil project on Nelson's Street; the Nick Walker is quality.
As for food I always go to the Glassboat and Graze (which does nice pub food). There's loads of quality places in Clifton to eat at too. As to Friday night head to the Thekla (a night club boat), which does some really good nights now and again. There's a Banksy on the side of that too but you wont see it unless you take the yellow taxi boat during the day. The Old Duke pub is worth going to for a bit of live music. Most of the night life unless you want the standard commercial stuff happens outside the centre. In Motion has put on some excellent night but the highlight this winter has to be the Hoff in panto, but that might just have finished ;-)

Fill your boots in Stokes Croft. Make sure to go up to the junction of Ashley Road and look up for the huge Burning Candy stuff on the top of Westmoreland House and the squat opposite the (infamous) Tesco.
There's a very old Banksy rose stencil very close to there... PM me and I'll try and locate it on a map for you.
Don't forget the Banksy sniper on Park Row opp the hospital.
And if it's still there the Nick Walker mural on the second floor of the Park pub (Clifton triangle). There's another very old Banksy stencil close to the pub which could be there still. Again PM if you're interested in the location.
This is just scraping the surface of Bristol's walls and spots but are good places to start.

He retired from his weekly spot at the The Star and Garter a few years ago and the pub will never be as it was in the 90's.... DJ Derek still does the occasional festival I think (supported The Prodigy also?). Check this out....
