He is more synomonus with using tiles (or now waffles) for his art and I dig the use of a meterorite to form these invaders. I do think the media used adds something to these, but I wouldn't buy one for this sort of money

plus it's the title of an art piece, and installation... the other is the name of the artist, what he calls himself.. his logo. "Space-Invader" because he's coming to invade your space with his art

Think of them in relation to Egyptian relics and carvings of what was the culture in their time etc... They were made out of stone millions of years old and are people and museums collect and pay very nice money for them.
These are modern relics made out of stone millions of years ago carved into references of the culture of our time, but from stone that came from SPACE, part of another world, not just down the road from someone's house!
I think it's beautiful idea.

well they bought them secondary and have had them ever since. Funny you should mention their canvas framing - the GWB dip in there makes my blood boil. ยฃ1/4m price tag and yet framed completely wrong - horizontal rather than on the diagonal. The bottom of the string is lower than her hand. AAAGH

We're definitely not talking of the same GWB then ;-) The one framed I saw had none of problem you're mentioning...

If it was by Koons or Hirst, people would probably say, "wow, only 7.5K, quite affordable for a unique work ! " ;-)

I do not know if that is factual, although I know he is a much older guy than Invader appears to be.
