David Choe has certainly had an interesting career. He's been jailed in Tokyo and been commissioned by Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss. Most importantly, he's also painted the walls of the Facebook offices. Mark Zuckerberg is a big fan of Choe. Choe, apparently, is a big fan of Facebook. His faith in Zuckerberg and the company lead to his decision to accept stock options rather than cash payment for his murals. Its paid off. He gave Howard that painting and didn't ask for anything in return. He said that he went on the Stern show because they were the only news outlet that didn't ask him to come on because he is now richer and more famous than before. Don't forget Howard is worth more than 500 million dollars and Choe wanted advise from Howard "The King of All Media" on how to deal with his new found fame and fortune. Choe said he was already rich from gambling and selling his paintings for up to $500,000 to royalty.
Choe said that he didn't sell many paintings at a few hundred dollars or a few thousand dollars - it wasn't until he started asking for tens of thousands of dollars for his paintings that rich people started gobbling them up like tic tacs. He said rich people want what other people can't afford and that's what drives the art market.

But I love his craziness but the fact he doesn't care much about the money. It's a bit fucked IMO that there is all this fuss about him being a millionnaire now. They should have talked about his art instead.
Anyway, he is a cool guy so better him than someone else! Hope he makes another documentary!
