Does Banksy make all the prints himself?, by 3stripes on Mar 9, 2012 18:43:01 GMT 1, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am new to the boards. I did not know where else to post this. I've searched the boards, but could not find a clear answer.
Does Banksy silkscreen his prints himself? I was just wondering because there is so much controversy over Andy Warhol prints now. Many question if some “Warhol's” are really a “Warhol” print made by him, or prints that were made by his staff and then signed by him.

Does Banksy make all the prints himself?, by mmmike on Mar 9, 2012 19:08:30 GMT 1, The difference is Warhol was said to not be involved in any of the process. He didn't create the image (in some cases) and he didn't even sign all of them himself (or so the story goes).
Banksy like most artists does not hand pull the screens, but he does create the original, tells the printers what to do, reviews the test prints and signs them himself. Well at least that is what I'm assuming but I guess unless you are involved in the process it is hard to know for sure. There is a video somewhere from modern multiples where they talk about printing for Banksy fro his LA show.

I realize the print is based on Banksy's art from the street or gallery. If it’s just signed by him though, I don't understand the value. 30 years from now won't the same problems that Warhol prints have be happening with Banksy's?
