What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Forbidden Love on Mar 10, 2012 1:43:35 GMT 1, not finding about prints or where to buy banksys work when i was following him from around 04.
not buying bme, laugh now for 800 when they were offered only few years ago, and a colour trollies for 1k. not buying a soup can (four cans) for 4k. didnt have the money anyway but was a deal. can think of many more buys which i missed out on.
selling my empire state, signed cnd.
but then the positive things make up for it, everyone will have regrets, and there are very bad ones id imagine like selling or not buying banksy og's for peanuts.

this is the key to it all. Although I have a sales thread I really couldn't dare part with the rest of my collection, so I give it all to the kids now, so Its not mine to sell. all the stuff on the walls that is. plenty stacked up, needing new homes.
I love my kids art collection.

yeh same. i went to his first show at signal gallery a few years ago and toyed with putting a canvas on my credit card. figured it would be daft cos i couldnt afford it. lesson learned!

After emailing Mr B via the old cashformonkeys site about buying affordable Banksy work in 1999... I got an invite to his first London show...
My regret is deciding not to attend the show on the walls/tunnel on Rivington Street in 2000 after waiting for updates on the day of show, then it was announced at the last minute and I thought it'd be too much hassle getting there.
What I missed.
And although I can't be sure if I would have bought something even if I had gone... I missed out on being able to buy the affordable piece I'd asked about.

There's being a Banksy fan back in the day but knowing nothing about buying prints until much too late, there's not buying a large Eine canvas when I had the chance, watching the price jump on an Olympic Riley print whilst in my basket?, wasting time waiting for and failing to bag a Fairey or Phlegm print - but more than all of this is paying Laz an extra ยฃ80 'tax' for the latest Zevs.
That all said there have fortunately been enough positive moments to outweigh any bad.
...I've had a few but then again too few to... well actually, come to think of it...

And obviously, not having extra cash at the time for all the Banky's still available on POW end of 05/beginning 06. Did get one though. So alls not lost

I guess my one regret would be this Billy Childish. I could have afforded it at the time, but I just chickened out. It would have been the most I'd ever spent on art. If anyone on here owns it, and they have an ounce of humanity, please don't tell me or show it to me.
