Although Ornate frames seem relatively easy to source, Fleebay ornate mirrors is a good place to start. It is very difficult to find anything of the correct size to allow for even borders around the image. Therefore I have commissioned Gary Mr Frameman to produce a bespoke frame which allows you to choose the type / number of swept corners and swags required together with the overall finish. I would give him a ring to see what he can do for you

I've ordered from Frame Express www.pictureframesexpress.co.uk/ before who seemed to be very responsive. And as a few folk above say, charity shops and house clearance 'shops/stores' - you know the man with a van type place?

I have an odd sized piece I want to frame in an ornate frame and got as far as looking at prices, safe to say still saving!!!
I have also been looking at auctions but as piece not "Gold Rectangle", framers term not mine, nothing close has turned up in last 9 months.
