Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by Daniel Silk on Jan 30, 2012 19:09:04 GMT 1, Would be great to see more of Logan Hicks work on here He's really a master at stencils, I would say probably the very best at detail.

Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by dlton on Jan 30, 2012 19:12:04 GMT 1, nothing catty, just simply a comparison. but what does bug me is the guy was hanging out the whole week I was there and he was talking about how he respects my work, was asking me about technical stuff, and professing his 'respect' for what i did. I considered him a friend, so I spoke freely without any hesitation. To then turn around and then make a near duplicate piece of work that is the polar opposite of what you've been doing for the years before smells funny to me. it's suspect. you're welcome to think what you will about who 'did it better', but craftsmanship is only half of what art is about. I am very confident in my abilities and I think my track record will speak to my longevity. Martin did do a better job of it though Logan, is that why you're so catty?
Yes I remeber you both from back in the Stencil Revolution.com days, both technical but in different ways.

Stencils? I thought they were Photographs he put up. Then I agree with the 'Master at stencils' statement. Amazing detail.

Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by Logan Hicks on Jan 30, 2012 19:23:06 GMT 1, Well, I'm glad you asked (insert crass commercialism plug here)
I have a show opening up in June (either the 7th or 8th, i forget exactly when) at The Outsiders. Excited to return to the UK. Haven't been there since 2009
Some very nice artworks here Logan (nice beard by the way), where is it available for sale ? Any upcoming Show in London anytime soon ?

Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by notworthit on Jan 30, 2012 20:11:52 GMT 1, Odd that only 3 months after I showed with him in Oslo, with the 2 pieces shown below, he produces a mural that is nearly identical. Pity when someone has been at it for a few years and they still can't seem to find their voice. no love for the mute. take it home. stand on your own two.
Woah, that's pretty slack. i'm surprised Whatson hasn't been absolutely slated for that. Bad form.

So should not jump to too many conclusions. Bit of balance and respect all round as it were

Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by johnnyh on Feb 1, 2012 13:54:55 GMT 1, Martin kindly did a deal for me on this and has given a good amount of the money I paid him to charity.
It's in the post at the moment and I am away so not seen in the flesh yet but thought I would put up not sure if will frame as on canvas. But shoot again could be making me re think that concept as his looks top draw under glass.
The butterfly is obviously a diff colour. Looking forward to seeing. Thanks Johnny

Martin Whatson - Amazing prints!!! , by johnnyh on Feb 1, 2012 18:18:51 GMT 1, Tell what happened it was the daft idiot selling the Jago that would not sell. Martin had this as one of the orig test pieces of his own and on a thread offered to sell it buy the Jago and give some to charity. I had tried to buy one before but he had no piece. So when the Jago did not sell he still agreed to give it to me. His orig had some damage so he re did it for me.
Secret yeh a beauty
Dappy you tosser ;D you got the aluminum one that for me is the number 1 for this happy with mine but would love that
Worth a point Hubble possibly two and sorry.
Stinks think it's around 110 x 70 off top of my head.
Really looking forward to it saw the orig on aluminum and really disappointed I missed the so been chasing ever since and saw the thread offer and was straight in there. When the dick did not sell the Jago was well worried but Martin kept his word and as I say he also donated a fair bit of the price to a charity. So very sweet deal just waiting on seeing it really.
Any way on a positive note for you all if he does not do a print .... I will so you will all get a print whatever but sure he is doing one.
Thanks for all the nice comments

If you look - I think I was the one who brought the original Eternal Reflections image to the Forum ... and started all of this love for the Whatson.
You should be thanking me! ;D
PS - I am glad you think I got the best one
