Yep definitely Tench, You might want to check out Chris Turnbulls web site christurnbull-artist.co.uk/ he was quite well known for his book illustrations back in the day, also a top carp angler.

Ask him about Ivan Marks as well, he was an angling legend, once watched him pull out a hundred pound of carp in an evening pleasure session on our local canal, a great character and real entertainer who would always draw a crowd whenever he fished, usually the crowd consisted of amazed anglers who had been fishing all day with not much to show for it.
