Cartain, this is a bad move - there would be better ways to go about raising cash.

People actually buy this stuff? and think of it as Art?. Are you serious? I cant be the only one here to think thats this is terrible?

Yup, its a one off original canvas, the original price was 550 and its now being offered for 150 as Cartrain stated above, also the photograph was originally 200 and is now being offered by Cartrain at 60, this was also a one of one.

I fully understand that as an "artist" that flogging off unsold items on the cheap is a good way to get some quick cash but i'd have thought a little more discretion would have been better.

After all this forum is home to probably home to 100% of people who've bought your work, so the initial offer does devalue their purchases and the joke above does make it look that it's all a bit trivial.

I'd love to hear from the people on the forum who had been discussing Cartrain's work as investment worthy.

Never is going to be worth money , im sorry its just not any good, regardless of his conections to Banksy and Hirst. really should be buying based on the work i think here, Whats good about either of these pieces? . An A3 photo of a pile of rubbish.? sorry what?. any of you could take this?. and a Canvas that has nothing other than a stencil from the internet and some lines sprayed for no apparent reason, If anyone actually think these are good then there is something wrong here.

Im not a hater by any means, i just really dont understand how you manage to sell anything, think this whole scene is messed up more than i thought, least with Brainwash you get something that looks good, these take no artistic merit to produce at all,

In Cartrain’s defence, what I will say is that I have bought one of his photos in the past and can confirm that I wasn’t disappointed with the quality or the image.

However, I paid quite a bit more than £60 for it and can’t help to feel a little pissed off that you’ve since dropped the price quite significantly. I also believe there are people out there who have previously paid up to a grand for on one of these canvasses, and now you’re trying to flog the remainder in the series at a huge price reduction.

Although I appreciate you can and will do whatever you want Cartrain, I do feel there is a certain etiquette an artist should follow, led by principles that should ultimately respect his / her collector base; it feels like you’re taking the piss out of us Cartrain. You're also playing a dangerous game as dropping the sales price like this now sets a new benchmark which future releases will be based on...

I won’t comment on the quality of your work, as it’s subjective, but I do think you’ve made a big mistake here. I’m also disappointed in the way you’ve ignored my emails since purchase. If I were Duncan Ballantyne, you can guess what I would be saying at this stage…
