My pm to Silent bill was not in anwser to any artwork by cartrain It was on another matter that had nothing to do with artwork by Cartrain. It has long been sugested that i am cartrains mum, but that is not true, i am not, nor have i ever been Cartrains mum

Post-Hirst 'debacle' Cartrain released a statement saying words to the effect of "I'm now going to put it all behind me and move forward" (may have actually been part of the agreement between all parties)

His 'helpers' are not doing him any favours in that respect

Two responses spring to mind when i read this (Well three actually)
1) The first being that i did start to worry that you were one of the great intellectuals that frequent this forum PHEW and not the cardboard tank

A question was put, and sometimes responses can be read wrongly, and the ambiguity conveyed can often / sometimes offend, when often/ sometimes it is not meant to, condemning that postee, ( example hotdog ) therefore, so as not to fall into this trap and to leave no ambiguity that may be misread, to clarify any misconceptions that some may have, i felt it necessary to maybe mention Cartrain where and when required and if i felt it was unnecessary to mention the name of cartrain then i feel sure that i would have left the name cartrain out of it. it was never my intention to type cartrain, cartrain, cartrain over and over again, your question was a fair one, had i read a similar post where Cartrain was mention in repetitive succession i might draw the same conclusion i hope that clarifies things regarding the Cartrain thing

TGA, totally agree with jopkop. Some Banksy acts may be considered vandalism by many people, especially before he got famous but it was made in a smart way : often carrying a message and with humour, which easily forgave the illegality of his action.
Cartrain's action inside Hotel de l'Europe is plain vandalism with a shitty meaningless tag. The only person that got bothered is not the hotel's owner but the poor underpaid bloke who was ordered to clean that mess in a time as short as possible before guests get in. BTW, why in Amsterdam and not in another town ? You can find far more 4-5 stars hotels in London and with fatter cats than in AMS. Just because he was there to get high I guess.
I thought 2-3 years ago that Cartrain was a potential very promising artist (I actually bought two of his works, Ransom and a photo print) but later found out that he was a mere copycat and essentially a basic weedsmoker/beer drinker vandal. It's ok when you're 17. 4 years later, it's time to move on. TGA, if you are the one I think, your art is far better than his.

As for the obsessive need to protect (Protect being the wrong word) When have i ever been anything but impartial regarding the merits of Cartrains or any other artists works? Try and find a
loophole in that statement
