Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by Daniel Silk on Sept 28, 2008 10:55:31 GMT 1, We spent some of yesterday walking round the art exhibitions with Cartrain. It just shows that all the people that knock him know f**k all about him you could not meet a nicer lad. He's so much into his Art really intelligent, and each piece of art has a strong story behind it. It was funny walking down the street with him coz he was always looking about for new spots to put a piece up
Keep up the good work Mr Cartrain! ;D

why should I like his art just because he is a nice bloke?
I don't find his stuff that offensive but if say I met a nice bloke who sold those wooden wheelbarrows for putting plants in....I wouldn't buy one and would still think they we're ugly pieces of s**t.
like I said I don't find his stuff that offensive to look at, so good luck to him, but to me the fact that someone is a nice bloke is irrelevant when buying their art.
nice one for the giveaway though cartrain.

Being able to like and respect an Artist as a person is always a big plus if you have a piece of art by them hung on the wall. If you suddenly found out the Artist that painted you favorite painting is a right asshole it just spoils it a little

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by paulypaul on Sept 28, 2008 22:51:46 GMT 1, Niceness, in Cartrain's case, is irrelevant as I have not seen anything I would, in my most blethering state, ever want to hang...
It's just rubbish. No theme, no skill, no originality. Nothing...
I mean, look at the amazing skill shown in something by Replete or Vandal. Immensely impressive, masters of what they do. You may not like it or want it but their skill and talent is beyond question.
This stuff is just fucking, absolute, unequivocal, 100%, talentless waste of paper...
Give it up - go to college, learn a trade and if you still want to do this - do it at home, learn and develop. Right now, your like the fat kid thinking he can do a four minute mile. You can't, not even close...

According to Yung and the collective unconscious i thought any explanation on my part is rendered irrelevant if you cannot see the nonsensical logic to the work i can only assume that your unconscious objectivity is not sensitive enough to de-code the logic of the work. I hope you can make sense of this
Laugh now but one day i will be in control

sorry to break this to you Cartrain but you won't, well not in the art scene. In control of a bicycle maybe and possibly a car in a few years if you're lucky but definately not with the art...

If its bicycles than so be it. Marcel Duchamp revolutionized the art world with one of his bicycles.

Sorry not really, pls can you explain what they mean ? In my experience all artists i have met have been more than happy to to spend time explaining what their work means and represents.
I would be interested in what these mean to you ?

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by nacional on Sept 30, 2008 16:11:11 GMT 1, I sense some kind of game going on here. Cartrain used to write in (apologies for saying this) very bad grammatical English, littered with spelling mistakes and use poor vocabulary. Now, it emerges that the man has a fine control of language and can pull out of his top hat refences to Yung and the collective unconciousness. He was either having us on before and playing himself down, has taken some get philosophy classes or he is not what he is (to paraphrase Iago...)
In short, who the hell is Cartrain......

I cant believe that as an aspiring artist you are not prepared to put your thoughts across as to what they mean. Seriously every artist i have ever spoken has been more than happy to discuss what their work means or what its trying to represent.
Without an explanation i fear that these collages just appears a lot of random images with no meaning what so ever.
An explanation to the works may help one understand what's going on in these pictures and allow us to see and maybe understand another side of you as an artist.
