I had a really good chat with Cartrain on Saturday, and I think most of you have vastly underestimated him.
On the meanings of the collages - I had a look at two big books he had of his collages, must have been getting on for 100 all together  And I asked him the meanings of some of them, and I was pretty shocked at the amount of information that came back! Very in depth stuff
Do not underestimate Cartrain I fear he might make you look a bit silly.

It just shows that all the people that knock him know f**k all about him  you could not meet a nicer lad. He's so much into his Art really intelligent, and each piece of art has a strong story behind it. It was funny walking down the street with him coz he was always looking about for new spots to put a piece up Keep up the good work Mr Cartrain! ;D
We agree with Mr Silk.
The artist is not only a very nice chap, if you ever get the chance to meet the lad, his art knowledge and angles will blow you away.
The more knocks he gets and the more beef he gets, the more he will come right back at you.
For Cartrain it's all about the graffiti. It's all about getting his name up...

A new Cartrain artwork will be up for a charity auction soon. We will keep you posted.

Add this to Cartrain's works not being up to much and the fact that 6 months ago he went into 'forum hiding' after he witnessed a stabbing, biging it up on the forum and then refused to go the the police - so even if his work was great, which it's not - he would still not get my vote.
I suggest your best idea to attempt to move forward is change your 'tag', change your forum name and try a very different style.

How have I got a vested interest in Cartrain? I like his work, I own a couple of pieces, is that it? So does that mean if you own an artists work you not allowed to come on a public forum and say you like his work?

All i have done is ask an artist a reasonable question in the hope that i can understand some of his work better ?

Got to butt in here Silky but Cartrain did explain some of his work to you so do you include yourself in the passing aeroplanes metaphor. If you can have an discussion with the artist about what his art means surely others can too.
I am not the biggest fan by any stretch, but given a little enlightenment by Cartrain I may come to understand further, as others have said he seems to have swallowed a book on philosphy recently his writings are almost those of a different man, it is interesting to see how far he has come in such a short time perhaps he could enlighten us some as to his work.
