Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Daniel Silk on Nov 12, 2008 18:34:00 GMT 1, i am rolmfao, if this is true why come on here and tell everyone on the forum? Thats like buying your girlfriend an engagement ring and telling her how much it cost! Or getting a new sports car and teelling your date she is riding in a $80K car! It also says " Damien has requested interested" what the hell does that mean? Which piece did DH acquire, or interested requested in??? very curious to know
One sentence you having a go for posting it and the next your curious and interested in having more info

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 12, 2008 18:37:32 GMT 1, Congrat's Cartrain, very pleased for you, but I did struggle to understand your post, as it doesn't make much sense. I'm sure I'd be pretty excited too in your position, in fact I'd probably be drooling on my keyboard, rather than just typing nonsense! Well done.
I have to admit, these pieces were probably my favourite work of yours. I still didn't like them enough to part with any money for them, but they were definitely a lot more interesting than the stencils and other things I've seen posted here. Congrat's again.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by andrewd on Nov 12, 2008 18:42:33 GMT 1, Well done and by the way did you get treated to a visit to one of his studios? If so let me know quietly what he is working on at the moment so I can see if I can spot which are his postcards at the RCA Secret exhibition! Oh and I looked on the 100artworks site and couldn't see the piece you refered to.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by nacional on Nov 12, 2008 19:18:15 GMT 1, Well done. "Signed and Numbered", as Shakey so eloquently put it "beware the green eyed monster" etc. Of course Cartrain is telling us this news, it's a forum for Christs sake and he has a right to be proud of himself. I would be taking out an ad in the Evening Standard.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by nacional on Nov 12, 2008 19:23:13 GMT 1, Forgot to speculate:
Does this mean: 1) we are going to see a rush to buy up Cartrains stuff? 2) Damien Hirst is a forum watcher or even participates??

Damien has Requested interested in the artworks ( For the love of God ) personally and he has now obtained them though a deal made with me. The artworks as of today are now in his possession and not much more can be said. Well done to everyone that purchased one before Hirst got involved ;D ;D ;D Is this a Damien Hirst or the Damien Hirst...?

What better place then the forum that has supported him for so long with such grace and kindness.
As for the rest of your argument, pot and kettle springs to mind. People are forever comparing cock sizes on here (metaphorically thank god although its only a matter of time).
This is a time to say well done. It may mean fuckall but it means something to Cartrain who has taken a lot of stick with good humour.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by spirit on Nov 12, 2008 21:36:13 GMT 1, If Hirst has indeed purchased these artworks from Cartrain because he likes them, then I offer my sincere congratulations. It would certainly be a scoop and I can understand his desire to tell everyone on here.
However, Cartrain has not actually said this. What he said was Hirst had "requested interested" (expressed an interest in?) the artworks and has now obtained them and they are in his possession.
From what Ross and others said, I understand that these artworks (for the love of God) used DHs artwork in them - his diamond skull I presume.
So, Cartrain, just for the record, please can you confirm that this "requested interest" and "deal" is actually a real sale and not DH claiming ownership of the artworks due to copyright infringement or something like that?
You said he "obtained" them through a deal done with you and they are in his possession. But you didn't say he bought them.
Again if this simply a case of DH buying Cartrain's work because he likes it then that is certainly something to be very proud of, but I can't help feeling that there is more to it than that.

judging by the strange wording in the first post i'd hazard a guess that it was either taken due to legal reasons or a trade did indeed take place
apologies if wrong but the repetition of "obtain" doesnt exactly inspire confidence
