A very nice piece Wiz. Well done. but hanging somewhere where the ladies can see it just goes to prove your an anarchist at heart, always up for a bit of social disorder. My comment about the Pollock and the David was a comment on what appeared to me to be a passive willingness for change in the social dynamics of the day

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 22, 2009 7:00:29 GMT 1, I like it! But try playing "London Underground" from an album called "Fitness To Practise". I think the guys who did it are called Amateur Transplants. I'm sure it's go down a treat!!! Not quite the same vibe, but appropriate imo.

I was actually thinking of using that song... Until i went to New York and saw the state of their subway i think the clean train movement they have over there is a waste of money considering how run down the platforms are

Yes, the system over there is grimey as fuck. But in fairness, in the almost 3 years I lived there (2001-2003), I can't remember the staff going on strike once! Let alone because they want a George Foreman grill in every station (yes, London Underground staff actually stopped you all getting to work on time once for a George Foreman grill in the staff room!!!). ;D

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Octopus UK on Mar 27, 2009 10:10:02 GMT 1, I'm sure that Cartrain would love to be compared with one of the father's of British Pop Art, but this phrase reads odd to me "... Blake or Paolozzi as their works bare striking similarities to that of Cartrain's." Better " ... Cartrain's work bares a striking similarity to that of Blake or Paolozzi."
Tomorrow I collect my copy of Paolozzi's "A New Spirit in Painting" from the farmers.

I never claimed Cartrain's work was like Blake's. but noticing a striking resemblance to Paolo's collages of the 40s (which had a focus towards freedom from drudgery through the shallow contentment of the transient and expendable of a dystopia) I thought I'd ask the question. Paoli's dystopia or Blake's celebrations of the motif arguing for the utopia.
