Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by smellmyfinger on Jun 19, 2010 17:58:55 GMT 1, Rourke - I appreciate that these are put together with pen, pencil, charcoal et al but what I would like to see is some colour. Even the grittiest of urban landscapes has some colour in it - check Lowry 4 to 5 in each painting at least. One other thing (please bear in mind that you have oodles more talent than I can only dream of having) is that I am not a fan of comic type Viz imagery. There I have said it now. Straight talking, no gags, in yer face stuff - Yankee Doodle Dandy was in the right direction and one of my favourites. SMF

Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by mikeT on Jun 20, 2010 7:04:16 GMT 1, Hey Rourke, like the cats. but love the fairy much more. The composition is sweet, though to me, the text's stealing the thunder a lil, and are too overtly prominent, if that helps. But it's a work in progress, so... I'm working on something half as complicated as yours, and I'm getting serious backaches and all. But you're right bout one thing. The knees-on-the-concrete kid feeling. That keeps us going, doesn't it. Can't wait to see the finished article... And erm...what kind of price would you place on it?

Thanks very much for your opinions, really appreciate it. Over the next few months I plan to work on alot of images, some that I have rote down in my little book and never got round to doing, and also some totally new stuff. I want to try and get across in some of the stuff, more of Me, either from my past or stuff which have influenced me in my life. Some of the cartooney images you see are from my past. They won't be all cartoons, but I will be throwing them in from time to time. I wanted to get a certain look to these ones, I want to make them look like they have been around for years, or just been dug up. The main subject will have a bit of more colour in them. I plan to do some just has landscapes, and I have already started work on Loweryesque peice. They will be some serious stuff aswell.
Thanks again for your thoughts
