Vintage year!!! yeah crazy times indeed. Many a funny story when i thought my 2 mates were the Crankees?? Playing cards with some rich Turkish lads in Uni and then arguing as they ended up loosing the keys for their triumph dolamite sprint. Scariest being 3 of us going for night time walk in the Welsh valleys/deep forest, no torch and each would take it in turns to be in the middle LOL...
Own up Replete i bet you took one and went to watch Lawnmower man in the cinema???

Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by Rourke on Oct 14, 2010 13:18:46 GMT 1, Hello
After working on the Main Howard Marks peice for the last month or so. Thought I would have a play around with the style a bit. Working on developing it, undevelop it, be more risky and have a bit of fun. I am also working a couple more Howard Marks peices, which are a bit different to the main one.
Its funny though, I have tried to loosen up my painting style for the last 25 yeasrs, and never been able to do it. But am finding it easier doing it with bits of waste paper rather than paint.
Anyways first Original is now available on Vandalart
Let us know what you think, cheers

Thought I would give you an update on the work I have been doing for the show at RedHouse, on Tuesday October 26th, 7pm-9pm. www.redhouseoriginals.com/ REDHOUSE ORIGINALS 15 Cheltenham Mount, Harrogate, HG1 1DW info@redhouseoriginals.com Tel: +44 (0) 1423 884400
Really pleased how they have come out, and how the style is developing. Experimented more and took a few more risks on the last two.
Feedback and your thoughts always welcome Cheers
"Here Come the Nice" Collage/Paint 30" x 24" deep edged Canvas Made-up from Mr Nice Book pages, Β£5 note, Newspaper & other waste paper. Some individually sprayed for different tones. Cut into stips, Diced but mainly ripped for texture. Acrylic gel then varnished.
"Dope" Collage/Paint Made-up from Newspaper & other waste paper. Gouache, Emulsion Splatter, Spraypaint Stencil & Freehand Acrylic gel then varnished. 30" x 20" Deep Edged Canvas Block
"Dopey" 66cm x 46cm discarded Wooden Pallet Made-up from Mr Nice Book pages, Rizzla Rapper, Newspaper & other waste paper. Cut into stips, Diced but mainly ripped for texture. Emulsion Splatter, Spraypaint Stencil & Freehand Acrylic gel then varnished.
I experimented on Building the texture out more on this one around the face and hair, making the eyes, cheeks, nose more 3d standing out from the surface.

Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by Guy Denning on Oct 27, 2010 10:15:47 GMT 1, Hi Rourke. Application of time and effort - that's what's so often missing in the art world today. So few people really understand how much work and time goes into a piece that they just visually consume and then consign to the back of their brains... and then they've got the gall to haggle over the price! Well done - I prefer the straight portraits. not only are they well crafted but they're good likenesses too. Well done and keep it up - you're really developing your own signature visual language.

Thankyou Guy, very much appreciated. and totally agree with what your saying. My way of thinking at the moment, is that More is More (and Less is More is out of the Window) I would just like to say a Massive thankyou to you, your words of encouragment and help over the years, as really kept me going, when I have often felt like jacking it in. Your top Bloke. Am really happy and confident in my work lately, I feel everything is coming together, combining all my styles into one. My next project I am planing to take it to the next stage, and do a biggey. on 8ft x 4ft makeshift wall panel. And is going to be a Hockney Portrait/Montage.
Thanks Again

Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by Rourke on Nov 6, 2010 20:51:51 GMT 1, Hello
Thought I would share my latest peice I have been working on over the last week or so. Its is the first in a new series, based on the idea of 'Pop will eat itself' Working more on the 3d effect, and buliding the picture out more. will take some angle shots of the peice as it progresses so you can see the 3d effect.
Experimenting more on the backgrounds, playing around on building depth in various ways, Multi layers, of decollaged headlines, splatters, freehand brush work, and small stencils.
It is on a Pallet again like The 'Dopey' peice, but this one was a bit cleaner, so I aged it abit with Tea bags for I started.
feedback appreciated, cheers

Lets discuss art then, isnt thats what this place is for. Im an artsist, might not be 'A MASSIVE BRAND' But I like experiementing, and trying new stuff and will always do so. If I don't sell owt else again, I will keep doing it. Not about the Money, its about the Passion and Love of what I do. Cos I am a tryer, 'and god likes a tryer' so I will keep doing it till am in me box. let us know your thoughts and I will tell you my reasons.
