I personnally enjoy working with somebody else now and then... For example this piece we did Artiste-Ouvrier and myself, in 2005 during the "Section Urbaine" event in Paris ( farm2.static.flickr.com/1086/1462058023_01d18b3a8d_o.jpg )

Craig Everett ๐ฌ๐ง Rourke Van Dal โข Urban Artist, by jamesreeve5 on Jan 2, 2008 10:00:36 GMT 1, I don't know about artists necessarily collaborating on pieces... some of the choices mentioned so far seem a bit off the wall (but I guess all artists would get along in a fantasy world). With that being said, I tried to think of a few I could imagine actually working out (with both their personality and the final artistic product) if the two artists happened to be in the same room.
1. Helen Frankenthaler watercoloring a Swoon piece. Plus it would just be cool to hear them talk about being women in art movements that both happen (or happened) to be male dominated.
2. Terry Richardson and Helmut Newton taking separate pictures at the same photoshoot.
3. Taylor McKimens and Robert Crumb

Jef, can I ask what the arrows in your work are supposed to signify? At one stage I thought they were pointing at the eyes of the subjects but that doesn't always seem to be the case...I've been wondering about them for a while if I'm honest and I'm still curious.

Well, a lot has already been said about those arrows and i actually seldom reply to the question as I'd much rather leave people to their own interpretations and explanations ! However, here are some of the ideas that have already been expressed about my red arrows, by various people (some by myself !) :
- link between street signs and paintings - very urban, city sign, simple and neat - pointing at some important parts, details... - to emphasize a glaring look, dancing feet, smiles - adding some energy - attracting attention, directing the eye - easily recognizable, spottable, eye catching - second signature, logo, personal trademark, own sign - reference to Francis Bacon's red arrow - reference to Ernest Pignon Ernest who also once used an arrow, a long time ago - reference to Eros, cupidon's arrows, love... - red = blood / blood = life... - circulation, cycles, motion, stream, traffic - aesthetics, lines, geometrical sign vs human curves - reference to the mouse pointer on a computer screen - for the sake of repetition, leitmotiv, accumulation - make people wonder and question, mysterious, strange - make people feel puzzled, upset, sometimes irritated - graphic weapon , violent sign - fate : one way street / one way life / dead end - strong, powerful yet simple graphic element - a way of saying : this is only representation, not reality - did it once and it stuck - reference to Native Americans : bows & arrows - direction of time/ of space, past/future , here/there - rectangle + triangle = arrow - wink at the red dot : sold piece ! - no specific meaning, just looking good ! - personal reason
you can add your own version to the list ! I love reading new interpretations or feelings about my arrows...
this one isn't mine, but it's beautiful : gemismyname.com/2007/09/25/red-arrow/

Thanks Jef, I should have maybe looked back on your page to find out where they were first mentioned... I hope I didn't come across as if I didn't like them, I just wanted to understand the meaning attached to them as they're as important to your pieces as the figures themselves, obviously, great list though... +1 for that.
And maybe as +1 to the list, I felt it the arrows were saying, "look into my eyes" or something more in that direction but at the same time works just well with the happy chappies in some of your pieces as it does with the more "sitting boy" like characters.
Sorry to have hijacked this thread though so sorry to all concerned.

yes these guys are too much. the first one was made in Milano, on the main entrance of pac exhib. please give a look at these details : www.blublu.org/sito/walls/2007/big/028.jpg and www.blublu.org/sito/walls/2007/big/026.jpg (i LOVE that guy with his ass framed) note that in Milano there is a huge cocaine problem and they did it in the street, Vittorio Sgarbi, a very famous art critic and tv show man, a weird dude, one of those that always fight on tv and make people talk about him said that that piece shouldnt be deleted and it should be protected as italian's culture heritage. how did the story end? guess
and the second one was made in nicaragua and i think it has something to do with the "bananeros" thing.
i find these two amazing. if i'll ever find other works they did togheter i'll post them here.
