As posted by another forum member Google did a nice tribute to Mr. Haring followed by this brief explanation about his work and the inspiration for the tribute. The search engine’s home page has been transformed to resemble the American’s distinctive style, characterised by bold colours and simple lines, for the doodle.
Each letter of its logo is made up of figures like those featured in the painter’s work, including one holding a heart design similar to one of Haring’s most famous pieces.
Haring, who was mentored by Andy Warhol, died of Aids-related illnesses in February 1990 when he was 31.
He was born on May 4, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and was raised in nearby Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
He developed a love for drawing at a very early age, learning basic cartooning skills from his father and from the popular culture around him, such as Dr. Seuss and Walt Disney.
