MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by The Origin on May 13, 2012 18:24:21 GMT 1, Just back from the pub - I have to say that is the most exciting finish to a game I have ever seen! Must be the best climax to a season ever?! Right team won the league in my eyes.
Oh and Joey Barton.....the guy is a nightmare.....effectivly got himself 3 red cards there!

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by Deleted on May 13, 2012 20:07:14 GMT 1, Unfortunately freerange football is all about wealth now. When Man Utd started with the team that formed the start of this great period, money from tv revenue had only just started. Year on year Man Utd has become wealthier and wealthier meaning they can invest in the best players and continue their dominance. Lets say another team had been fortunate to find a group of young players at the same time Utd did and, Utd and been bought by a wealthy Arab just like City have. I bet the fans would'nt care if they had to buy the league, it's just the way it is. What pisses me off is that this Premier League is going to get less and less competitive year by year as the rich teams get richer and the poor teams just stuggle.

Bollocks. It's all about money. Why is united's money better just because they have a bigger stadium and slicker marketing operation?
Oh -- and by the way -- City's starting team today cost £161 million to buy. United's starting team cost £169 million. So who bought what?

Yes but united or arsenal dont pay 3rd choice goalkeepers £100k a week.
They would have never come a played for them unless the big bucks were offered, hardly a club with morals or history. Doubt the likes of tevez or nasri even knew who city were until they heard the kaching.
Overr inflated by £400m sponsorship from the same owners. Like chelsea.. If the owners left you... You would be bankrupt sooner than balotelli could shag another hooker.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by bigtlt on May 13, 2012 20:57:10 GMT 1, Freerange and bigtlt - nonarguement of the decades. Well done MCFC.
MUFC has always been run as a great business. United have never spent more than 50% of income on wages & transfers. United have always been run within a strict budget.
MCFC's wage bill alone is 200% of income. Not including the huge transfer fees that have inflated the whole market. The way City have spent, nobody can match those wages, now makes it near impossible for any club outside the top 5 or 6 to ever become successful.
I don't in anyway begrudge City fans winning the title, but, nobody can deny it was bought for them.
£930 million spent in 4 years with only £365 million income is obscene and un-manageable in any business model.

All we care about is finishing above spurs. Job done.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by elwheel on May 13, 2012 23:47:31 GMT 1, "Arsenal are self-sustaining" and " come back ... Through not buying it". Think that's a selective view FR. If City hadn't have spunked xmillion on kolo, nasri, ade, Clichy, you would not be self sustaining and cannot take the mOral high ground on buying expensive players. Is podolski free? I'd be delighted if all our feeder clubs started to offer free transfers.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on May 14, 2012 1:23:56 GMT 1, Its all about the $$$$ SWANSEA finished 11th!!! and all our players are on 25k pound/week max...amazing achievemnt really and we beat the champions 1-0 also.. Glad city won only for this year though. Gutted Bolton didn't stay up but yes Joey Baton always been a c*nt, hopefully some one will knock him clean out soon. He will get a 12 game ban for that minimum. Looking forward to the transfer rumours starting heard one that Berbatov is coming to Swansea LOL.. he'd have to take a hefty pay cut!!!

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by Warm Gun on May 14, 2012 11:00:52 GMT 1, Aren't rules being implemented in two seasons time regarding a clubs income verses it's expenditure?......something like that anyway. It will shake the game up and effect ALL of Europe's big teams (so it'll probably be scrapped before it even starts). City are in debt, United are in debt, it doesn't matter by how much as they both own mega bucks one way or another.
I don't really care how much City spend, that's their problem in the long run. If it means that I get to players like Tevez, Aguero, Silva and Toure play their football on these shores then that's fine with me. It's all fantasy money to the likes of me anyway. It could be worse, you could have players as good as Eto'o earning 250k a week playing for some unknown Russian team that no one ever gets to see. Apparantly Drogba could also follow his example by going to some rich but third rate team in China for a ridiculous wage (if rumours are true).
I'm not to sure how United fans can come on here saying that City have bought the title anyway when they've been lapping up everyone's best players for two decades......Cantona, Berbatov, Vidic, Stam, Ronaldo, Rooney, Nani, Ferdinand, Evra, Hernandez, Welbeck, Jones.....the list go's on and on these were all star players in their previous clubs until you offered big spendies to ply them away.....bloody hypocrites. Yes you did develop one hell of a team with lots of home grown tallent but that was 15 years ago, you haven't repeated it since and probably never will.
Really enjoyed the finale to this seasons, fantastic entertainment. It was United's title for 13 seconds and then Wham, up steps the Argie. You'd be slapped around the chops if you were a script writer and came up with that nonsense. Two goals in extra time?.....madness!
That was the most enjoyable season I've witnessed by a long shot. It was made double tense as I needed Fulham, City and Chelsea to concede with United to keep a clean sheet to scoop £900 in the work dream team competition, it only went and happened. Chuffed, ti's going in the Banksy fund for sure.
Bring on next season!

Again, sorry to blow trumpets. But Arsenal are one of the very few (if only) club in the premier league who the spending rules wont apply to as they spend within their means.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by Finsbury on May 14, 2012 11:30:01 GMT 1, As an Arsenal fan for 30 yrs and a st holder of 12 years it hurts me to say that our financial ethos has now been blown out of the water by city winning the league and the amount of money that is being showered about. Arsenal fans i ask you this, are we to endure another season of scraping out qualifying for europe yet again, buying in the bargain basement the developing player no ones heard of, keep dreaming about a club that runs its books well while being while the nearly men in every competition, keep paying the debts and falling short, or should we say right we've had enough of all this, pay the right wage to the right player keeping them at the club, buy the real deal, and lets have a right good go at winning something because tbh its getting embarrising. Other clubs will make a mockery of the FFP, they'll have uefa in their back pockets, nothing will be done and the richest club will keep on winning with us falling further behind.

Bring back David Dein and let Usmanov spend some of his billions on AFC.
I've always said that Arsenal's financial model has to be applauded, but it's going to mean we're left behind when competing against others with more firepower. The wage structure needs tearing up, Wenger needs to start spending and the Board need to lay it on the line whether or not we've actually got any money to spend.
They can't be too far off paying for the new stadium, and once that's done it will be interesting to see what's available for AW, should he decide to buy a descent player or 5!

Arsenal are preparing for financial fair play which is why this is happening.
If it does not go ahead - well then we have the 28th richest person in the world owning the club and he can spend as he wishes - which he will. Only $2bn behind the owners of Manchester city.

Arsenal are preparing for financial fair play which is why this is happening. If it does not go ahead - well then we have the 28th richest person in the world owning the club and he can spend as he wishes - which he will. Only $2bn behind the owners of Manchester city.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by saint on May 14, 2012 13:37:24 GMT 1, Come on chelsea
yawn.
And massive yawn to you freerange, you finished above us due to 3 massive errors by a lasagne chef who's first and only experience of premiership football should also be his last. Hardly something you lot should feel proud about IMO, but hey arsenal fans have always been good at pretending its all ok and that 3rd place is what you were after...
we lost it, you didnt win it, remember that.

MAN CITY WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!, by Finsbury on May 14, 2012 14:05:02 GMT 1, Add squilachi, diaby, chamakh, mertesacker, a decent no2 keeper and gary lewin to your 'in' list along with dein chyren, im hoping for m'villa but might be usual paper talk and nothing else but if it does happen at the rumoured cost of 20m, that would be a steal imo for a player of his talent at only 21.
As for the FFP, ive said i think its a nonsence, uefa being as bent as they are will be bunged constantly and they will be the only ones to benefit from it. Also re transfer kitty, GGraham has already said he knew in jan wenger had 40-50m available, still he failed to buy a striker for RVP, he took a massive gamble and luckily (again) it paid off. I doubt he'll ever spend the big money, i once read giving wenger 100m would be like giving steak for a year to a vegetarian.
