100cm x 70cm + framing = too big for my tiny pad. I see these being £400 - £500odd which should make 'investors' stop and think.

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by The Origin on Oct 2, 2012 22:42:00 GMT 1, You can get a original for the same price from a forum member here mescalxxx something or other , Same thing different signature, dont kids ya self its not .
The forum member is called: mescalit0 and his webshop is: decayart.bigcartel.com/products
I purchased one of his originals a while back and it is real nice in the flesh with lots of texture. Highly recommended and probably half the price of the Fridriks screen print.
I love Fridriks work but not so sure how well it will translate as a screenprint. Will probably still try for it anyway as that reflected blue looks pretty special!

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by Art Fan 2011 on Oct 5, 2012 12:28:32 GMT 1, £770!!! Big money, I wanted the Blue one, but judging by the price of the Gold one I will be going no where near it - real shame, as I really like the piece, but theres just so many other prints out there for waaayyy less money on my list, so its a pass for me, il leave it to thoses with the REALLY deep pockets!

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by Forbidden Love on Oct 5, 2012 12:32:26 GMT 1, 770! i thought it was going to be around £250 for a first print (i even thought it shouldve been cheaper then that but by other people saying around £400) I cant connect with it that much to justify paying £770.
thats if it is 770

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by Neate Michael on Oct 5, 2012 13:25:54 GMT 1, I would be massively surprised if the print was anywhere near £770.
Off the top of my head, I cannot remember any prints being sold by POW for more than £400ish (Banksy prints at that).
It is her first print. She is still a niche artist.
Yes, it is big, yes it has many colours. But even so, they would be massively overpriced at £770 for an edition of 100. Maybe the blue reflective edition if it is an edition of 5...

I think you are spot on.
It is a reflection of POW's continued change in direction away from it's urban/street artists. Katrin's usual patrons in Europe are far removed from the Urban gallery scene.
At a recent Paris auction, one of her pieces went for more than double the primary price. She has stopped doing her smaller canvases, now the smallest canvases you can buy are 100cmx100cm.
She is blowing up in the States with a big show to be confirmed for next year over there.
The primary price has jumped in the last six months on all her pieces.
I think the originals on mirri paper available only 4-6months ago now seem better value compared to the gold print edition.
Having said that, the blue edition is stunning and no doubt will be a smaller run.
I would opt for the blue; it looks more like her originals on paper below:

I've thought for the past few weeks that should these priced less than £500 it would not be a good move for her, especially after the successes she has enjoyed in the recent past.
Having said that, a part of me also wanted these priced low as I would have certainly have bought one. I most likely won't now and I certainly don't expect these to sell fast if they are indeed being sold for £770. The two big questions for me are whether they are slightly over-priced (I think something along the lines of £450 would have been more appropriate), and whether they fit into POW's business model. It's a rather strange move for both POW and Fridriks in my humble opinion!

The intricate nature and detail of this print, not many could pull it off therefore I think its a great move for Fridriks - given POW's excellence and expertise for screenprinting.

I'd rather put a bit more towards something really special. Saying that, I really want one, hoping they are a little less, who knows, might end up pulling the trigger anyway.
