I like the idea of mermaids saving sexy ladies from drowning - but I don't think it so!
The mermaid is a lesbian who does not want to tell the other mermaid and potentially attacks random sexy lady swimmers - Watch out!!
Imambo -Call me old fashioned, but a picture of a mermaid and a girl kissing - smacks of teenage fantasy and should remain on a boys bedroom wall. I know, as a kid, the film splash game me the horn and that was without a hint of lesbianism! ...hahaha, really? I saw it as the kiss of life... now who's the slutty one?

Unlike Banksy who releases well below market value, which has the positive that fans can afford them and the negative that flippers can make money off them. I think we will be able to say whether these were a good price when they are received and the level of hand finishing etc.
I prefer the woodblock version, could have this version on the wall of my study, but not my lounge, but it doesn't really do it for me

Have to agree with zippy's comment on the print, I love'em and would've snapped one up if the moths were less veracious... congrats everyone that got one, I think the feeling I have is jealousy!
Hold on a minute guys..... This image has become the most requested print for the last year or so. After its publicity at the PNB show many forumites said 'it would be amazing as a print release' and 'why don't Faile listen to their fans'. This is exactly what they have done!! They have released this amazing image as Prints and Originals. Why should they release it at $400 for people to immidiately flip for $2000? By pricing it this way they will be bought by those who love it (if they can get one!) and I believe this will be the desirable print from the last 2 years and be coveted as much as the Butterfly Girl print.

The high price isn't a method of making sure only "true fans" end up with this print. It's just someone charging extra for a product that he has been assured (by "the fans") is in demand.

I am surprised that I wasn't able to sell my stencil, which was ready framed by mfm, all hand sprayed and painted, much smaller edition size, for around the same price as the black print.
Ho hum.

I am already suffering enough sleep deprivation as it is today at work The old adage is true you snooze you loose. That being said if anyone is experiencing a case of buyers remorse I will happily buy there black version for cost plus the 2 shipping costs.

I like the image because it looks good to me and because it has some direct relevance (in my view) to present day controversies, e.g., the place of homosexuality in society, whether we should really help each other out, etc. In the US (at least) I see these general topics being of great importance lately in both the ongoing gay marriage debates and the validity (or not) of the Obamacare legislation. Of note, both of these have recently made their way to the US Supreme Court.
