Shepard and the rest of us at OBEY are overwhelmed by the stories we hear about how much people are paying for prints on EBAY the same day as they are released on our site. We are, like most people, are disheartened and disgusted with the situation. We are taking responsibility for the Ebay situation and have taken action against those who simply purchase prints to instantly auction on Ebay for the highest price. There is a difference between a print collector who purchases a print, archives it for months, years even, then decides to barter or sell a piece with the intention of getting more cherished artwork THAN a "collector" who purchases a print then has it posted on Ebay before the print is actually received in hand or the moment they receive it the mail. Don't see why that's not possible, Penny did it with one of his editions if I remember right.

Lots of people wanted them and there wasn't many released. So they went in milliseconds - big surprise... I've never got lucky in a bunfight yet but life goes on...
I actually think it was a good idea releasing them at the time they did - means if someone really wants one and missed out online they have time to organise getting to the gallery. Sounds fair enough to me.

Keep patting yourselves on the back, you'll get burnt. Also looks like the gallery are dropping the prices of canvases after the initial outrage. Find me a UK street artist whose reputation hasn't been destroyed, or at least dented, by greedy "here today gone tomorrow" galleries and dealers. Artists need to wise up and stay away from this short term idocy. Stik, nice be of fun on the street.. the end. Come on you lot, there's some great f**king art and groundbreaking artists out there. We're living through one of the most amazing movements in art since , well.. since ever. Support those that deserve it. People are breaking their necks getting work up around the world day in, day out. Street Art isn't a f**king 5k stickman on a canvas..doesn't matter how much you hype it or how long the thread is or how many local papers cover it. Or how many members of Queen own one for that matter.. Help Stikk out, offer 3-500 quid max for a canvas..will enable him to stikk around far longer.
