Stik Walk Print, by saint on Apr 19, 2012 11:00:38 GMT 1, Does that mean you're gonna start offering dolk canvases for 500 quid rather than 5-6k? after all, street art isn't a f**king 5k girl with paintbrushes on a canvas eh? doesnt matter how much you hype it, or how many people in Norway have suddenly decided he's the best thing since sliced fish..... i'll give you 300-500 quid for it.... etc... it should all be free if it's street art ......
haha! if only mate.....
And before anyone has a go, i was only joshing with martyn as he (i hope) knows.....

Stik Walk Print, by Damien on Apr 19, 2012 11:11:35 GMT 1, Find me a UK street artist whose reputation hasn't been destroyed, or at least dented, by greedy "here today gone tomorrow" galleries and dealers. Artists need to wise up and stay away from this short term idocy. Stik, nice be of fun on the street.. the end. Come on you lot, there's some great f**king art and groundbreaking artists out there. We're living through one of the most amazing movements in art since , well.. since ever. Support those that deserve it. People are breaking their necks getting work up around the world day in, day out. Street Art isn't a f**king 5k stickman on a canvas..doesn't matter how much you hype it or how long the thread is or how many local papers cover it. Or how many members of Queen own one for that matter.. Help Stikk out, offer 3-500 quid max for a canvas..will enable him to stikk around far longer. Does that mean you're gonna start offering dolk canvases for 500 quid rather than 5-6k? after all, street art isn't a f**king 5k girl with paintbrushes on a canvas eh? doesnt matter how much you hype it, or how many people in Norway have suddenly decided he's the best thing since sliced fish..... i'll give you 300-500 quid for it.... etc...
good point though

Stik Walk Print, by alexdb on Apr 19, 2012 11:11:36 GMT 1, At this point i am not dictating what people can or cannot do with a print they have bought - flippers are flipping annoying, but from what i see in front of me the vast majority of the prints have sold to people who dont use this forum. This whole thread/release smacks of bubble waiting to burst. Have you given it much thought that prices could spiral downwards quicker than they have climbed? Leaving you and the artist in a worse position Genuine question btw
Perhaps, you are right that this is a bubble to burst. At least I will wait a year for a Stik canvas. Prices for a canvas went up from 600/1000 to 5000/7500/10000 in just half a year. If prices go up that fast in general they will fall down quit soon. Just wonder what Stik himself would think of this. I would love to see him developing steadily in both his creativity and value of his art.
Just received yesterday my 'Single Mum' print which i bought from a forum member. I am very happy with that, and in my opinion still his best piece made.

People always talk about bubbles bursting on here. 95% of the time its sour grapes.
Only seen the other 5% once and that was with nick walker. Mainly because it was not worth being in a bubble in the first place.

Or not wanting naive members to lose a bunch of cash??
Sorry if that offends jboy but it really is as simple as that, the price increases in the time-frame are pretty scary to me. Still I'm no expert unlike yourself, fill ya boots everyone and if anyone wants to off-load at a modest profit then please pm me

So you think stik can keep the same monetary value long term, as say Steve Powers, Bary Mcgee or even Josh Keyes ?

Dont even like stik, but the only reason why you would care about prices is because either you cant afford it and have sour grapes or you are jealous.
Which one is it? (question to everyone, not just you cg)

Stik Walk Print, by twist65 on Apr 19, 2012 11:43:47 GMT 1, why is everyone banging on about bubbles etc? it's a ยฃ140 print, not the most bank-breaking thing ever, but if you missed it then tough, no need to worry over other people buying one or their motives for doing so. I know the commission price quoted is high but it really is a separate issue to a ยฃ140 print..

Stik Walk Print, by richskara on Apr 19, 2012 11:45:18 GMT 1, I don't have any sour grapes. If I'm honest the canvases I've seen are rubbish. Some of the ones I've seen posted recently don't do it for me. Especially the burka one, they just seem to have something lacking. So I wouldn't pay that. But 150 ish for a print seems a steal and I don't know the single mum print is just great IMO. Didn't like lovers but quite like walk.
At the end of the day if you like an image and can afford the price it should never matter bout all this other bollocks.
