Stik Walk Print, by Hanging Around on Apr 29, 2012 16:30:15 GMT 1, I haven't read all of this thread, but I have met Stik once before and he was such a decent guy. I'm sure both the artist and the gallery know what they are doing and can gauge his appeal beyond the bedroom experts of this forum.
It will be interesting to see what he does next, with his increased exposure and maybe now more opportunities will open up to do bigger projects on a larger scale.

Funny the hype around a new print release can skyrocket the prices of older print editions immediately following the release. I had very little interest in the lovers print I sold through this forum about 6 weeks ago - sold for $240 US. Now one on the bay for 5 times that.....crazy I tell ya

If and only if they are then yes it would be nice to have one. If not I will not pay near 1k for a poster Id rather pay a bit more and get a banksy. The guy needs to develop from his current form and move on before I pay those prices of 1k.

Stik is painting some new stuff in the city this week and I spoke to him yesterday and he denied any new prints so read into that as you wish. But I'm with you on the current market prices and my desire to hang one of these has been well covered, but while people can make good money on these images and I refuse to put money into their pockets I will continue to have a stik shaped void in my house.

For the price I would rather have a bp portrait winners print on my wall or when they surface a reproduction non signed stik as I love art not for flipping it or as an investment just because it is nice on the eyes.

As for the extra colour there is a Picture on the squarity facebookpage that has them all framed. The comment on it though says something like all the stiks together, yet it has a question mark at the end of it.... That doesn't help to put any rumours to bed does it....

Seems like the price is now a 'bargain' £1275, I think that was about the price of the 'Lovers' canvass at the Graffik show. The missus wouldn't even entertain me selling our 'Lovers' even at these bonkers prices. |
