KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by krazy on Jun 22, 2012 0:42:03 GMT 1, Hi all.. I'm currently helping my wife raise money for the Heart Foundation. She is running the New York Marathon in November on their ticket.
One way I thought I could raise money would be to run a lottery to give away one of my KAWS prints (Warm Regards - signed, numbered).
I want to run an open ended lottery (ie. no limit on tickets) for about ยฃ5-ยฃ10 per ticket... but I'm trying to work out logistics (ie. how to allocate numbers, how to draw it in a fair and transparent manner, etc).
Can anyone help with recommendations, or let me know of any online services that can run these things (if there's, none.. then there might be a business opportunity waiting to happen!!!).
Also... will there be enough interest in this to run the lottery? It's for a very good cause (did you know that heart disease is the number one killer in western cultures??).

KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by brendan1985 on Jun 22, 2012 1:59:31 GMT 1, I would be in for a few tickets, if you figure out how to operate the process smoothly, very admirable of you to donate one of your prints to such a worthy cause. Well done sir!

KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by sal on Jun 22, 2012 14:09:31 GMT 1, +1 for you good sir!
I'd definitely participate by buying a ticked or few, and by spreading the word about the cause on other forums... unfortunately, Im not aware of a service that would provide you everything you need, but Im sure something can be arranged... good luck and keep us posted!

KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by Zippy on Jun 22, 2012 15:06:30 GMT 1, A good deed indeed.
Justgiving could do the trick as you will then be given a list of names of those who participated.
I think some have used random number generators off the tinternet to draw the winner of its names into a hat.

KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by fairplay1974 on Jun 22, 2012 15:14:39 GMT 1, Agree with Zippy and Fingerz....Justgiving can be used as reference to who has given/what amount (so dependent upon ticket price multiples purchased can be easily worked out). Each person is then allocated number or numbers dependent upon how many tickets purchased....Then queue random number generator
Good cause too, sure you'll get a very good response for this with that sort of giveaway on top.

KAWS Print - charity lottery??, by krazy on Jun 23, 2012 10:24:48 GMT 1, Thanks for your comments everyone... You've convinced me to run the lottery.
Unfortunately, I can't use the justgiving site, as the Heart Foundation is making us use their own site to track the donations.
I think I'll run it like this: Everyone can buy a ticket via the above link (ยฃ5 each?)... Then just pm/email me with your email address. I'll give you a random number... Then (depending on how many people enter) I can either use numbers from the lottery, or some other published data from the web that would give everyone an equal chance of winning.
Next question.... Where should I post the lottery info (what thread, and which other forums? It would be great if everyone could spread the word too!)
