My (possibly false) assumption is that, in your own mind at the time of its original purchase, the Steve Powers You And Me image represented you and your then-partner:
Working together as a team. United. Perhaps even the two of you against the whole world.
In case this is correct, it would seem apt โ nay, beautifully poetic โ that you lose the piece upon the breakup of your relationship. My argument would then be to let it go and move on.
Artworks with an associated history cease being neutral. And they are rarely cookie cutters that can just be reapplied to the next person who comes along. If a female friend were getting remarried, I would also discourage her from wearing the same wedding dress she wore the first time around.

ESPO's brick & mortar store in Shibuya (Japan) is worth a look, they have some very cool tote bags. I just grabbed one of the five I Am My Jail, I Am My Bail prints sold out of Japan. Not sure if they've updated the ESPOKYO (www.espokyo.jp) website but there were two left before I purchased one yesterday.. so it would seem only one Japan version left. I've coincidentally formed a bit of an orange/purple/black/white wall at home and it seems like this print is bigger than most he's doing at the moment so I jumped on it!
I was re-watching exit through the gift shop and noticed a massive ESPO shopfront shutter (within the context of a 2004 www.woostercollective.com blog post). I haven't gone through the 78 pages in this thread yet so assume people have already discussed but I love the stories about him doing the shutter rollers! Confidence is everything and can help you paint in front of 10+ cops..
