For all you old punks, by Coach on Jul 5, 2012 19:53:07 GMT 1, Absolutley fabulous music documentary on radio 4 today. "The Godfarther of Ulster Punk" From the blurb: Alan Dein goes to Belfast to meet Terri Hooley, who almost singlehandedly ignited a peculiarly Northern Irish punk explosion during the darkest days of The Troubles.
This was such a fantastic listen, I would recommend anyone with the slightest interest in punk listen to it.
Charts the introduction and rise of punk in Northern Ireland.
Utterly brilliant programme

Interesting to hear the story of the squadies stood at the back of the clubs, craddling their guns, but nodding their heads to the music. And the london record companies all rejecting Teenage Kicks - one saying it was the worst record they ever heard, so they left the record at R1 for Peel, who (a radio first) played it twice in a row!
These wet the appitite

For all you old punks, by Deleted on Jul 5, 2012 21:02:07 GMT 1, Cheers Coach, will check it out. SLF were first punk band I saw, Guildford Civic, supported by The Wall. Remember it was reviewed in Sounds, and for Jake Burns throwing off his guitar, and saying to a skinhead in the audience who was starting a fight, " Oi! Buckethead, come up here and try that".
A bit later, but loved this, also from Northern Ireland
