Price hike seems terribly steep but I guess it serves to lift the price of the older stuff - IMO faile are not as desirable as they once were and I wonder how long they can push up prices before demand just falls away because of high launch prices meaning they become a much longer term investment.

A FAILE original for $1200 doesn't seem that bad...to me at least.
Will you be able to flip it for a profit? Doubtful. Better make sure you love the image.
Personally, I think there are some great one's in there.

I can see the point about how they may not have progressed that much over the last few years but to me it's more of a culmination of their entire careers that adds to my appreciate of their work.
As far as the cost is concerned the price was spot on. Hell, people spend $900+ on their print editions of 300+ when for 1/4 more you can have an original?

Take the $1200 you feel Faile doesn't deserve and spend it on an emerging artist. Get in on the ground level (and be sure to share your next great artist with the rest of us!).

...interesting how that show at Laz has gone entirely unmentioned and has had no significant effect stylistically on what they have done since, they seem to be firmly back to recycling the older images/themes
(Not a complaint at all by the way, wish I had more examples of them myself)

I couldn't agree more! I have two book covers from the first release and they are not nearly as special as these new book covers! I was lucky to get one this morning ;D

Different image cycles, romantic novels, native americans, political stuff, random stuff ...
They have stuff in all price ranges - blocks for 150 - book&tile for 110 ...
What would they need to do for people to not complain

Have no regret my friend, impossible to get to the end of the process. I did try for far too long, such a rubbish system, never letting you actually pay for any book cover you ever managed to cart... Complete waste of time !
