COA or no COA when original owner??, by rillo on Jul 27, 2012 12:54:49 GMT 1, Quick q guys, not as up to speed these days. If you are the original owner of early Banksy prints and thinking to sell, are registered owner (is there still a POW registry?), have POW invoices in your name etc. do you still need COA to sell / get the best price (or more than £50 more on an unsigned print)?

COA or no COA when original owner??, by brendan1985 on Jul 27, 2012 12:58:17 GMT 1, Not an expert but I think you would be silly not to get the COA, I personally wouldn't buy one without it.

COA or no COA when original owner??, by smishdown on Jul 27, 2012 13:12:51 GMT 1, I bought an unsigned banksy print a while back and it didn't have COA but he had the paper trail from purchase and I had no trouble registering it in my name and getting the COA. I don't think there's much need if you have all invoices etc but I'm sure it will probably put a few people off. Just my thoughts

COA or no COA when original owner??, by confused2 on Jul 27, 2012 13:16:04 GMT 1, I've bought with and without a COA but have always made sure there is bulletproof provenance if there's no COA.
A COA would attract more buyers though I suspect.

COA or no COA when original owner??, by rillo on Jul 27, 2012 13:52:06 GMT 1, Hmmm, thanks guys. Think it makes sense for signed but not so for the unsigned but as you say I imagine that it depends on who you're selling to.
