also, what are you going to use them for? a 2.1 system is kinda unless if you're just going to listen to music, and you can always add the sub later and start with a good 2.0 system.

For your Imac!?.
For that kind of money the Dali Zensor 1's and a Denon CEOL is a good bet. The Denon is Airplay so you can stream and control from your Imac.
I have that set up in one of our rooms and it's a great sound for a smaller room

they give you a good advice, the Teac is a nice dac/amp for speakers and also a very good headphone amp if you already have them or you're thinking about buying some in the future.
the Dali Zensor 1 are also a great buy for the money but have a look at what I suggested earlier. they're all great speakers, if they fit your budget you won't be disappointed.
