My Dal Print, by nealmason1986 on Aug 5, 2012 13:19:58 GMT 1, Hi guys.
I have a Dal assasin sat in a portfolio until i find a good frame.
Problem is i am a bit worried about it. I let it unroll for a bit and then when it was almost flat i put it into a plastic wallet with a mount board behind it.
I put envelope corners on the bottom to keep the edges from damaging on the bottom but didnt put corners on the top so the print could stretch without being restricted as it wasnt perfectly flat!
Problem is the print looks a bit rippled around the edge. Wondered it its purely because the paper has been treated to give it the "old tea bag effect" of it i should place it between 2 mount boards and try and put some weight on it to make it perfectly flat.
Anyone got one of these prints? Is yours the same or have i cocked mine up.
Thanks
Neal

My Dal Print, by dotdot on Aug 5, 2012 13:24:09 GMT 1, wouldn't worry about it.
it's not dam age.. it's intended.
if you're going to frame it have it backed.. (using consv matrls).
don't stash it .. frame it... but note - at that point -> going back in the tube is a no no.

My Dal Print, by nealmason1986 on Aug 5, 2012 13:36:29 GMT 1, Spot on.
Thanks.
I thought that must dal prints would be like this because of the way the effect is put on the paper. Just wanted to make sure its not my fault.
I will frame is asap.
What do you think of them sandwich frames which makes the print look float mounted but its actually between 2 pieces of glass.
Just need to find a float mount frame now!
Also what do you mean by "if you're going to frame it have it backed.. (using consv matrls)." I am a newbie and have no idea what that means. Any web links would be appreciated!
Thanks for all the help

My Dal Print, by bigtlt on Aug 5, 2012 14:07:47 GMT 1, My Prefab - Britannia had very similar rippling and waves due to the varnish used on it.
I got round it with a bit of creative framing.
Not ideal framing but doesn't look too bad.
