Sorry Coach for being unpleasant but plain lies about friends is not on.As usual thick people say what they see without thinking about scratching the surface. Pretty sure the fella is out of pocket by a large sum (for us) just trying to travel to sign some prints due to transport problems.

Sweetcorn, whatever you reckon to Carls work, be it good, bad or indifferent CG is neither a liar nor a troll, infact he is a good friend to me and has stepped up to help me personally on more than one occasion (as have quite a few people on here).

We all like what we like and dislike what we dislike, that's it really.

Sounds suspiciously like you have an axe to grind here. Maybe you also tried and failed miserably and for some reason feel the need to attack carl. 

Maybe put the effort into your own sad existence and see if you can achieve something instead. 

Perhaps you'll feel less left out, and you'll be able to find something that makes you happy.

Carl has never been anything but great to deal with, and has done a lot for charity this year alone. To question his character is not only uncalled for, it's plain wrong

I think I'll go back to trying to avoid the forum for a bit. the negativity is just too much to bear anymore

Artists are supposed to be cool - no, artists are people. Some are cool (and actually Carl is) but some aren't. What most are is very proud of their work. I suspect a lot are sick of idiots telling them how it is and I take my hat off to them for remaining calm although it's part of the 'job', I guess.

Goonish crowd - There's a lot of love for Carl on the forum across a wide variety of collectors and galleries not just because of his work but also because he's a really decent guy to deal with. I've never met him but had a lot of email/online correspondence with him and bought a number of pieces. He is never anything but fair - even once contacting me to tell me he'd overcharged me and making good when I thought I'd paid a throughly reasonable amount.

Can I suggest you just stop contributing to this thread now - its been noted that you're not happy he didn't like your comments. You don't have to buy his work - plenty of others will I'm sure.
