RESERVOIR TROOPERS, by trebor on Oct 3, 2007 7:21:21 GMT 1, I don't get it?
Its just a badly photo shopped picture made into a dull screen print.

RESERVOIR TROOPERS, by craigf on Oct 3, 2007 13:08:17 GMT 1, I tend to agree (re 1st comment being harse and it being good). I don't think I will buy it as I have a couple of star wars themed prints already, but it takes a well know scene from RD and adds a twist to it

RESERVOIR TROOPERS, by coxy on Oct 3, 2007 13:22:17 GMT 1, i totally disagree with it being badly photo shopped, i think there's real attention to detail here, the way the heads are angled to match the original RD still for instance, the guy must have spent ages sourcing just the right shots of start wars heads.... i bought one of the last editions in red and i was really impressed with the all round quality of the print, it has nice little hand finished touches on it too, like the ash on the end of the cigarette..
don't think i need a grey one as well but i'd deffo consider buying other prints by him.

Are you his mate ? nio offence but it wouldnt have took that long to source the right images......looking left....looking forwrd.....looking right.
I dont kno about other peoples opinions but pieces like these need to be on the street 1st
eg Banksys pulp fiction wouldnt be half the print it is, without seeing it in situ 1st

no not his mate, i just don't agree that it's badly photoshopped, it's not just a case of having them looking in the right direction... if thats all the guy had done it would look badly photoshopped...
i'm not sure i agree that a piece of art needs to be on the street first before it can be taken seriously either..... i don't think every artists image needs to go through some baptism of graffiti fire for his work to be considered good. there are aesthetic principles that are just as important.
i agree the context of banksys work is half the allure but that needn't apply across the board to every other artist surely.

I havnt questioned the guys ability, its just some things are easier than others. I dont think that something like a storm trooper would even need photoshop
1. every1 knows what a storm trooper looks like, so half the work is already done for you
2. storm troopers are white with black shadows, so yet again half the work is done for you
peace n love

RESERVOIR TROOPERS, by coxy on Oct 3, 2007 15:11:06 GMT 1, well i think we're gonna have to agree to differ on this one, i realise he isn't exactly reinventing the wheel when it comes to subject matter here but i love it and since my copy is 144/150 i'm guessing quite alot of other people dug it too.

RESERVOIR TROOPERS, by alcat82 on Oct 3, 2007 21:21:34 GMT 1, I'm not his mate either but I got the print (red one) months ago after finding it through the art for ยฃ50 thread in general chat and despite peoples comments about it not being hard to do etc. i like it a lot and value it as a nice print in my collection!
I'm not so sure about the grey one...the red is much nicer in my opinion and fits in well with the Reservoir theme if you think about the colour schemes used on the graphics for that film.
